I'm intrigued by the thought of how you might accomplish that. Just a couple artificial ways that initially spring to mind would be to take a highly accurate reverb capture of the room at the position where your cab mics are placed, and then remove that sound from individual cab impulses...

Only half of it is for a solid state amp. The motor drive half already happens naturally, and to be frank it doesn't sound great combining it with a real cab. The transformer grind part does sound good though I think used with a real cab and solid state power amp.

Sure is. Changed the stock bridge on my Ibanez to a Hipshot replacement, and couldn't have been happier. So much more comfortable now when my hand rests over it, and I feel like it helped to keep low string from going sharp as much when using heavy strokes. Last part might be wishful thinking...

Anyone here try going from stock Epiphone pickups to something else? I remember it being an actual large difference in that case when replacing them with pickups sold by Gibson in my buddies LP. Opening up the Epi pups I thought I found the reason as well...the thickest layer of wax goop...

How many reference tone cycles does your AxeFX do during IR captures?

The standard right now is 2 cycles, and has been for awhile. Can't remember exactly for sure, but there might have been more sweeps in past firmwares before Cliff settled on 2. I can't confirm the science behind it, but in my own testing using multiple sweeps has the same effect as an elongated...

100% no You can accomplish something less pretty by creating a tone match or capturing an impulse of an impulse. These will leave you with the sound more or less of the original, but won't be 1:1. You'd also have to own their proprietary software to load the impulse for that to even be possible...

Hmmm...they all 3 sound absolutely wonderful. I think number 2 though might just be perfect, and not just in that full mix context, but also very much so just enjoying the tone of the guitar there on its own before the rest of the parts start playing

no no no no :tearsofjoy: that would be terrible I ran a logarithmic sine sweep through the device to create an IR, which in turn shows the amplitude response. So, how loud it is in this graph is of no consequence, and you only are looking for the deviation in dB towards the low and high end too...

I'm guessing you've never tried one. At bedroom levels, or at any volume before the EHX starts to distort, it's no better or worse than anything else offered out there in terms of sound including Matrix really. Same extremely flat response, and it gets loud enough to where you can feel it...

Try a power conditioner that has AC EMI/RFI noise filtering It shouldn't ever be silent like you were asking, although it's usually quiet enough that you can easily tune it out

pink noise or white noise? some white noise is common with any power amp hooked up to your cab, and the amount can differ depending on some different variables. I'd guess at interferences from different electrical devices such as lights, and "dirty" power quality

Really on the fence with the Holcomb SE

There's 2 shops in TX that carry them supposedly, in Keller and McKinney, so I guess you'd have to rural areas surrounding Dallas for that to help? You have about a month until 2017 models are available for purchase, so is it possible where you live to just see if other SE CU24 models are...

The thought occurred to me at first as well, but I can't see how any phase issue would be incurred. He could check the output page settings to check if L and R are summing, or if it's sending 2 separate mono signals out. Even then it would require his patch to be causing the phase issue, and...

^ Seriously. Although I'm afraid he's needing to refresh axe-edit parameters or something, and simply resetting the amp block with axe-edit is causing some of those settings to be like that? I mean in the original post he mentions it sounds thin, and the preset has depth all the way down...

I downloaded fractool and went through your preset and it sounded pretty anemic to me even after putting the speaker resonances back to normal. Try the preset I'm uploading and see how it works. It's your same BMT and drive settings, but it puts back a lot of other settings that I found skewed...
