Have you tried searching for the version that was released with rock band 2? That might have isolated guitar tracks. I don't know how well it would work to tone match a song off Colors if you want the tone they have off Parallax II though. I think they used dual rectifiers for recording...

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate the honesty. I've had the axe for about 5 months now and it's definitely been a chore getting a metal tone that I really like. I've noticed that it's particularly difficult blending two amps and that's something I want to learn how to do. I might try going...

Recommended USB Audio interface (windows 7)

I have a presonus audiobox 22vsl and it works great for me. The VSL software that it comes with allows you to do alot of cool stuff such as eq'ing and adding effects to your monitors while still recording a dry track from the axe. I got mine for 130 on ebay so you can get them relatively cheap...

Getting that classic Peavey 5150 low-mid growl and smoothness

Have you tried a different boost pedal? For the type of sound you're looking for, I think most people will tell you to use a TS808 but you might have better luck with a different one. I've had really good luck with the super OD particularly with the das metal model, so I can't guarantee it will...
