    Whammy

The way I’m hearing this, I suspect the Whammy in this case is part of the backing track for the song, while he’s simply strumming a power chord over it. That said, he has played the part live with the Whammy in the past (see the Popmart tour)…

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 9.04 Firmware Release

That said, it would be nice to know what the strategy will be with firmware updates once the Axe III arrives...will Axe II stop receiving them?

I love it too. Thanks, Cliff.

When are they going to elect a new USB Driver?

Oh, it's a Mac, running OSX Sierra, 10.12.5.

When are they going to elect a new USB Driver?

I'm not sure of the name, but it's the current OS...I'm up to date.

When are they going to elect a new USB Driver?

Same issue here. Not a single connection problem for the past 3-4 years (however long I've had my Axe) and suddenly, after installing 8.00, I've got connection problems with Axe Edit all the time. Switched back to 7.02, but to no avail. Would be nice to hear from Fractal on this...it seems to be...

Axe Fx Funk Wah U2's mysterious ways

Thanks for doing that, fisioaura, much appreciated! I don't think I would have been able to figure out how to get this sound on my own. :) I turned off the Pitch block (since I'm already using a 12 string) and the GEQ. I just need to make a few more tweaks to get the sound to play nice with my...

Axe Fx Funk Wah U2's mysterious ways

That's very impressive, fisioaura, well done! I don't think I could distinguish that from the A3 sound. Awesome! I know that many people would be grateful if you shared your preset...

    Yet another U2 preset medley..

Assigning the pedal to the Input Gain of the Multi-delay seems to smooth it out a bit. Thanks, Edo. :) Also, I'd like to second what ssmorga78 said. If I'm not paying attention, I feel it's U2 I'm listening to. Great work by you and the band. You all sound fantastic! :)

    Yet another U2 preset medley..

Yes, I do have a volume block to attached to an expression pedal to bring it in and out of the mix, but I have some choppiness at the beginning. This is what I mean... Thanks, Edo. :)

    Yet another U2 preset medley..

I do use a volume pedal to bring it in and control the overall mix, but it's still a little choppy at the start; I used maximum discussion and rolled off the highs, but you can still hear it, especially the scratch from the Herdim pick. :(

    Yet another U2 preset medley..

Sounds great, Edo, especially the shimmer. I have trouble getting mine to fade in smoothly like yours does. :)

the trick to make any IR sound great, and make great ones sound RIDICULOUS

I never experimented with any of the room settings before, but I have to say, there is a big difference here. I've been using 60% room level, 1.00 Room size, and 20% mic spacing, and I feel like I can walk into my guitar sound and walk around. Thanks for drawing my attention to this...

Axe-Fx II "Quantum" Rev 2.04 Firmware Release

I'd just like to say that I think Cliff and his team are doing incredible work. I couldn't be happier with the Fractal products; I think that their utility, functionality, and performance can't be beat. The money I spent on the Axe FX is the best money I've spent on music gear, and if anything...

Getting a little closer, I think... Comments and suggestions are very welcome. :)

    fw1.06 ac30 U2, almost there...!!

I know that you mean. I'm feeling that, with Edge's sounds, it's really more simple than we imitators feel it is. I think he has great ears, and the money and ability to endlessly experiment with guitars/effects/amps/mics/etc to get the exact sound that he wants. I might be wrong, but I feel...

    fw1.06 ac30 U2, almost there...!!

It's a Custom Shop Strat, I believe with the '69 pickups. I can get a very similar sound (maybe even better) with my stock, MIM Classic Series Strat, however.

    fw1.06 ac30 U2, almost there...!!

Thanks! :) I took Edo's advice on boosting the 1.6 and 3.2 frequencies in Amp Block and barhrecords' advice about the Multi-comp between the Amp and Cab Block...but I'm still tweaking and experimenting. It feels like I'm walking around the sound I want, but can't quite get there. :)

    fw1.06 ac30 U2, almost there...!!

For anyone interested, I made some of the changes recommended by some of the posters above. I think I'm getting closer (but I think Edo is still closest). :) Forgive the sloppiness of the playing. :)

    fw1.06 ac30 U2, almost there...!!

I thought the same thing. I had read in various places that Edge used the FS-1 in the bridge around the War era, but I've heard conflicting things about whether they were still there or if he reverted back to a vintage-style bridge pickup. I had a guitar that I put a David Gilmour-style pickup...

Edo, I think that might be the closest Streets sound I've heard. Well done. :) What do you think about the FS-1 in the bridge? Do you think Edge has them all his Strats?

U2 Where the Streets Have no Name - Clip: v1.03

I did upgrade already, yes. The Cab is just the standard Fractal F024 Blues.

U2 Where the Streets Have no Name - Clip: v1.03

OK, here it is. I'm not too sure what I had happening in Scenes 2-4 and 6-8, but Scene 1 is the main preset with the Axe SDD and Delay. Scene 5 has an effects loop for the SDD. Depending on your guitar, you may have to change the output level on the delay or the effects loop to get the amp to...

U2 Where the Streets Have no Name - Clip: v1.03

I have the MK II, and the SDD is the original rackmount unit. It's in the Axe's effects loop. I didn't think that there was any reason that I couldn't use it, but I think it sounds good. The Axe's SDD emulation is really close, though. :)

U2 Where the Streets Have no Name - Clip: v1.03

Yes, it is a preset that I made. I've been working on it for a while, tweaking as I go. What you heard in the clip was a real SDD-3000 into the Axe's AC30 block, but the Axe version of the SDD preamp combined with either the vintage or digital mono delay is almost identical to my ears. I'll try...

Trying to do a DIY Streets Preset - learning how much I don't know.

This may run contrary to what you're going for in this thread, but I've never been convinced that Edge uses a dual delay setup for this song. I know that using two delays definitely works, and really creates a strong 16th note rhythm for the intro/outro, but I find it either a) gets to muddy, or...
