Besides performing live how do you guys get people to discover you in your city?

IMHO there's no magic bullet, and no guarantees. You perform as much as possible. You promote online everywhere. You present the public with a "product" that catches their attention (and how to do that?). You spend wisely money where it needs to be spent. Look to those in your area who ARE doing...

    Any bassists using AF3?

Got a chance to try this technique out and it worked fairly well, down to drop-D. All things considered a viable solution for certain types of synth sound that don't require a strong attack. Shame that it takes a pitch block to get this done. Wish Fractal would figure out some way to address...

    FM9 maiden gig voyage

I finally, after 2 years of owning the FM9 Turbo, got a chance to air it out at a show this past weekend. The gig is a straightforward rock/hard rock/metal show, from Buck Cherry to Iron Maiden to STP. Feed was DI to the mixer with stage wedge providing amplification. From front to back, the...

I'd love to hear an audio clip of bass synth playing low E in the synth block. I've never heard it claimed as possible, and never gotten it to work myself.

    Any bassists using AF3?

So you're saying that you get useable tracking in the synth block on bass below G on E string? I've had good results in general with the Pitch block, but not on the Synth Block down low. I'll try on my FM9 to see if this helps.
  8. jimfist

    Any bassists using AF3?

Keep in mind that many of us experience poor/unusable tracking problems with the Synth Block below the G on the E-string. Hoping some day Fractal finds a way to extend the synth range for bassists. Not an issue if you're using the synth for octave below (playing the bass notes an octave higher)...

Best Axe FX Bass amp for metal.

It is key for brutal bass tones to have that frequency split. I've found that otherwise, running a full-range tone into a drive or amp for distortion, it just won't behave easily. Erasing all of that low end allows for much more latitude in adjusting dirt and drive on the high end signal path.

A link to an audio clip of the type of sound you're looking for would be helpful. Ibanez MiKro Bass anyone have one?

Yes. Had 2 but sold one. Kept the better of the two. Biggest hurdle initially was bridge adjustments for intonation. The stock bridge needed some extreme adjustment on a couple strings to get them in pitch up the neck. A better bridge would help. I replaced the stock plastic tone & pickup knobs...

Ah, yes. Poorly phrased question on my part. Ultimately, bassists would appreciate decent tracking down to low E at least, if somehow Fractal could accommodate it. Only going from memory here, so FWIW. The original 800RB had that trademark GK sound vs. the 1001RB/2001RB, which sound similar, but are less obviously colored tonally. It's never been my expectation that the 1001/2001 were supposed to exactly mimic the 800. GK now makes legacy amps that do...

Correct. I'm looking for the "flat" IR to have some of the other parameter goodies available within DynaCab. I'll have to examine my core presets to see how much cpu room is available to add the 2nd cab block in parallel for the flat IR in legacy mode. It's really a matter of convenience and...
