This is the fun part for me. They are so specific that their character shines through every other preset. Electric/acoustic and bass rig with separate control via midi?

Hey guys, need some help figuring out how to make a somewhat complicated rig. The goal is to create 3 chains. Power amp with real cab garbage sound

my experience is the opposite, for the most part. Without cab sims on the amps sound huge, and with cabs on they sound small and overly filtered. If it's fizzy, check your gain, treble, and presence as you would with a "real" amp and you should be good to go.

With my Suhr w/v60lp’s you just have to have a half decent IR and then you can’t hardly make it sound bad unless you try. With a Les Paul with vintage wind D.Allen Pickups the only extra step is engage the low cut, and keep the bass knob in check and it’s also amazing imo

More than satisfactory. I wouldn't WANT to recreate most of what I do with actual gear. I can experience everything I like about a tube amp without wearing earpro, and my rig sounds more or less the same in every venue I play. Bad power and boomy stages/rooms made tube amps such a headache...

How do you monitor your Axe-Fx III?

If you’re mixing a lot then NS10’s can be valuable, but they wouldn’t be a good pick if you’re looking for the most enjoyable sound while jamming at home. The NS10’s ubiquity is due to the reputation that they don’t do your sound any favors, and if you can make a mix sound good on those, then...

skunc nailed it. Spend at least a few days on just amp and cab, and really pay attention to the cabs you like. The more I use this, the more I realize the cab is at LEAST as important as the amp block, possibly more. All eq choices seem to stem from the feel of the cab(s)

"Rolled R" Growl, or "Burp Tone"

Would you say that what you're after is like a deeper version of the way an acoustic guitar rattles? If so, it's actually in the highs, and compression seems to mess with it. Stupid noob questions

the 4 output knobs are for the 4 separate outputs, if you want independent control, you'll have to use independent outputs for your second post, there isn't a whole lot of difference between running one amp or two, so its really not as high of a CPU load as you might think. You're probably...

Anyone have any patches for a Rhodes/Elec Piano ?

Maybe try a parallel chain with a clean side, and then another side going to a tweed to mix in a hint of grit. You might try to pick a dirty clean amp that can sound good without a cab at all, because I think a speaker sim might fart out on anything lower than a middle register.

Is there a way to make passive pickups sound like active ones?

I’d call it realism. Any advice we give is going to address an EQ curve and not the texture and timbre of the tone which is what he really wants.
