Axe-Fx III Cygnus Factory Preset Banks A, B, and C

Calculations involved, assuming 5 seconds to audition, with absolutely no time lag in between to switch it would take over 17 continuous hours to go through them all If we assume a very fast, 2 second delay in switching/selecting presets (also assuming you don't play more than 5 secs on the...

SOLVED: post #6,7 - Not getting sound running 2 amps blocks in series??

Post a screenshot? It's kinda hard to imagine exactly what you mean here Won't tapping off before the drive block for the dry signal work? Or am I misunderstanding what you're describing?

    Axe-Fx III Cygnus Presets - Banks A & B Preview

Guys, I just wanna say thank you for this. I know it is an absolute ton of work and an IMMENSE task and undertaking, but it is VERY well worth it!! These presets are off the wall PHENOMENAL💥🙀!!! Axe-Fx III Cygnus Factory Presets - Bank A Preview

This I tried it as well before and though it does sound cool in some cases, most times you're just getting a double 'filter' or 'blanket' on your sound Best to use just the real cab in your case, or switch to frfr for the cabs in the Axe-Fx

Axe-Fx III Cygnus Factory Presets - Bank A Preview

Thanks so much!! Appreciate the hard work guys! I can't wait to try these 🤩 Recently with Cygnus i had nuked my presets and installed the factory presets and this is gold! Yeah, bank A is where it's at indeed haha

WOW! What A Difference This Change Made!! UFB

Not sure if trolling or...... Are you sure your axe isn't just driving the headphones super hard? 🤔 I had a similar experience with headphones and that was the culprit. What cans are you using? Also, try playing through FRFR - if you have the same experience I'd say something was wrong...

Is arrived the time for Axe-Fx III to profile an amp?

How many profiles can you run at once? Because you would want to profile each pedal separately for accuracy, and then make some sort of composite or run multiple profiles in series.....I don't see this being more efficient in any way than drag n drop blocks on the Axe though 🤔

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 16.01 Beta 1 Public Beta

Well based on all the tips on the dizzy models he has offered over the last few betas I would tend to believe he knows them quite well and is hearing a difference. Whether this is the same as Cliff's amp is the question, but I'd tend to believe that he knows what he's talking about
  18. jon

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 16.01 Beta 1 Public Beta

Totally agreed with everything you said and great video! The dizzy as of fw16 has become one of my favorites, it's just so chunky and tight and defined.....very inspiring to play!

Cygnus Poll - Honest Question - Improvement?

Well I've been reading every comment and thread for all the Cygnus updates and honestly this is about as close to 100% satisfied users have ever been, my estimate is more like 98%, there are a couple guys who prefer FW15 but have come back to Cygnus in the end. The poll reflects this too, only...

I'm also excited for the factory presets too, as they have always been a great starting point, and some resets I've used and left stock for as long as I can remember! I DO have one request from @FractalAudio for them, which is to have them leveled in some way....that's the only thing that...

    3U vs 4U rack for ax3 ?

I think for your use case a 3U will be better, however I always found that just 1 more rack space is almost ALWAYS better, for things like wireless, bringing the connections to a strip, a power conditioner, a power amp, or just to pass the cables through, having the extra space is always a...

EQ High Hat and Cymbals out of drummers head set mic. How?

Less gain on the mics so it will pick up less noise, place the mics closer, and use a very directional mic, and do a hi cut from about 4k...usually cymbals will be in the upper frequency ranges, but 4k cut and above will help cut out all that high cymbal noise without affecting his vocals too...

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 16.00 "Cygnus"

Wanna post up a clip so we can hear what you're hearing? Also, did you reset system parameters? I think you can try reducing master bias excursion and power tube grid bias, as per Cliff's recommendation if you want to go back to that FW15 type of sound/feel
  31. jon

Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Version 16.00 "Cygnus"

Little more information needed..... For starters have you reset the amp blocks? Do you have speaker compression dialed in? Are you on FW16? What preset/s are you using (if it's a custom present you might want to upload here) What are you monitoring through? What's your signal chain like?
  32. jon

Additionally, if you are in the 500s, just keep going forward with the main dial, it will wrap around to the start (preset 1) after a couple turns
  35. jon

    lost preset

If you page across from the home page, you will see a layout of the presets, use that to quickly navigate to the one you want (press enter to select) There's probably a faster way but I find this is the easiest to navigate for me from the front panel

I think the sound was already nailed with Ares, the iii brought much in terms of 'feel' and that final 10% of the little things that were missing....the FEEL....the chug, the compression, the amp in the room, the wapoosh.....the interaction of guitar and amp... And maybe there is a final 2%...

Oops I modified a factory pre-set, how do I revert?

Thankfully now you don't NEED to understand it in depth to get a good sound. Add an amp block, a cab block, turn some bass middle treble and play. Very simple to get going with this box. If not, just watch a YouTube video, there are tons of great short videos showing exactly what to do and how...

Cygnus Is Not Like Other Firmwares

Well yes, there's diminishing returns on something this high of a standard as the axe fx has set, but there are certainly a few head turners which DO make you go 'Whoa, this IS MUCH BETTER!!', and the Cygnus update is one. What are my options for getting music from a phone/tablet to a PA system?

I HIGHLY recommend this one: You can get cheaper ones yes, but for its size, you will be hard to find something that packs so much power into something so tiny! Plus, you can use the RCA connections on the receiver directly. If you aren't going to use the RCA, you can get a 3.5 to 1/4"...
