Using a valve power amp....AxeFX power amps on or off??

That's my setup as well. It sounds great with the amp sims on and doesn't sound great with them off.

whats the best expression pedals ?

I'll be an outlier and say that I really like the Ernie Ball Jr. pedals. I found I had to tweak the curve on the AxeFX, but I really like the construction of these pedals, the fact that they can nest close enough to each other to operate two with one foot and the range of motion on the rocker.

    Is Atomic Amps dead?

The last men standing in that market will be the ones who are responsive.

    ...

I have one from about the same time frame and like it pretty well. If I could only play one guitar for a year, it would be my Ernie Ball Music Man Steve Morse model.

Ernie Ball Vol pedal only kicking in Halfway

I use a couple of Ernie Ball Jrs. They're built like tanks and have a nice smooth action but, as others have said, the taper isn't correct for use as an expression pedal. I changed a couple of parameters on the modifiers my pedals are assigned to and to my ear they behave exactly right. The...

Tips/advice for "bright' guitars with the Axe-Fx?

Might help to know which amp models you're working with too, if you haven't tried them all. Some of them (the Cornford comes to mind) tend towards bright, just as their real counterparts do.

    We want Firmware 12

And if he does it for a discontinued product, he's an idiot.

    We want Firmware 12

It's surreal to me that a group of people that are usually stereotyped as Luddites ('57 Les Paul, anyone?) can't get enough when it comes to firmware updates. I've been as happy as the next guy to receive additional functionality, but I bought the Axe-FX for the functionality it had when I...

Best AC line conditioner and Voltage regulator for Axe-FX II?

I may be the one who missed something, but I personally err on the side of caution and use a conditioner anyway.

Best AC line conditioner and Voltage regulator for Axe-FX II?

Much has been said in this section of the forum lately about switching to SS amps in part to reduce weight. For anyone with that objective in mind, installing a battery in the rack is a step in the wrong direction. I use an older Furman unit that has been very reliable. Cliff has made it...

Anyone switch from mesa 2:90 to the matrix?

I'm interested to hear what you both think, as I'm currently using a 2:90 as well.

    Atomic 50/50 vs. MATRIX GT800FX

Mark certainly did a good job of recording two videos with very similar content and setup apart from the power amps. What we don't know is whether the position of the mics remained the same and if the blend of the close mic and room mic are the same. If those things are even a little bit...

    "Almost mature"

"1. Bazillions. The II's firmware ROM is four times bigger than the Ultra." So, IOW, the Ultra has space for a quarter bazillion amp models. :D My own personal expectation is that Cliff and team will dedicate their efforts towards the Axe II. As far as firmware updates go, I try to...

The new MATRIX GT800FX. THE amp for THE Axe-Fx

Looking at the bolded part of DADA's post below, it would appear he is referring to future units.

Anyone take off the front stands/legs of the MFC for better foot tilt?

I removed the feet from mine when I mounted it on a pedalboard. The board has a fair amount of tilt on its own, so the angle of the MFC's control surface is even steeper. I have to lift my foot higher, but I don't find it a bother and I seem less apt to step on a nearer switch when clicking...
