Another Gapless Switching Thread... Solved! (Post #136)

All the gapless switching angst!!! I bought a Fractal because my Mesa Mk V combo made such a terrible popping sound when I switched channels that FOH refused to mic it.

Interesting discussion and I admire your persistence! Seriously! I wonder if you had a time-based effect (delay, reverb) later in the chain if you would end up getting a similar result. Sure, there is an upstream gap but the delay/reverb will "spill over" during it and probably (likely) mask...

Curious about the fixed number of block types paradigm versus as many as the CPU can handle

There was a thread of the many on this topic where I decided to press this issue. The above was the argument that made the most sense to me and convinced me to drop it. Just look through the midi implementation tables and you'll realize that it would not just be the "trivial" task of removing...

Yeah, Gary is great. We once talked pre-COVID about doing a hands-on class where a dozen or so folks get a guitar and learn how to do most standard maintenance tasks.
