Tell me what amps you DON'T prefer!

One man's harsh amp is another man's holy grail of tone. The presets are just one setting, many people create their own or at least modify the settings to get closer to their tonal objectives. Steve Morse uses an Engl, and that's enough of an endorsement to me not to dismiss the Powerball. The...

    Axe-Fx II weird flanger/ducking issue?

I can recall one day when my Axe Fx once sounded terrible, and I called in for tech support. It finally dawned on me that on the IO menu, I had the input set to USB for a reamping project and forgot to change the input back to ANALOG IN 1. Correcting the input on the IO menu immediately solved...

Can AxeFx 2XL patches be shared with AxeFX 2 users (non-XL)?

The FracTool will share patches between the II XL and the Mark I and Mark II, as long as the patch does not require more resources than available on the Mark I or Mark II. Otherwise, you may have to simplify the signal path before loading it in your Mark I/II.

    Axe-Fx II weird flanger/ducking issue?

Look for the simple things first. Rule out any corrupted firmware or preset problems. Perhaps there was a global parameter that you might have inadvertently set by accident. This process might take a little time, but my best suggestion would be to do a complete reset and reinstall of your...

Convert Tone Match Block to Wav IR

Thanks again, I was getting tired of hitting the wall!

Convert Tone Match Block to Wav IR

I found a preset file that dated back to early 2014, my first Axe Fx was the Mark II, this had to be a Mark II preset and I got the very same error on Axe-O-Matic telling me that it was not a valid Axe Fx II file...bummed here.

Convert Tone Match Block to Wav IR

I was able to use FracTool to save a II XL preset to Axe Fx II format, and this would have been perfect but Axe-O-Matic gave an error of "Invalid Axe II file" when I attempted to import the converted file.

Convert Tone Match Block to Wav IR

Thank you for posting, AlGrenadine! FracTool allows export of a II XL to Mark II, is that right? One that works, then hoping Axe-o-matic can convert the TMB to an IR in wav format. I think Axe-o-matic can read Mark II files.

Convert Tone Match Block to Wav IR

There was a utility called Axe-O-Matic that could convert a tone match block to a wav file. I think this worked a few years ago but now I'm getting a "Input File not valid Axe 2 format" Can anyone offer help?

Fractal Audio AMP models: Fryette D60 (Fryette Deliverance 60H)

Steve Fryette is a great amp builder and he is very knowledgeable. He and I have been friends going on ten years! I bought a Memphis amp second hand from a music shop and took it in for servicing. I've spent many happy hours in his shop talking gear and music in general!

If you find the patch through the social network sites that Piing linked you to, please come back and post the patch, sounds interesting! :D

Can Someone Pls Help Me Emulate An LR Baggs Session Align Acoustic Pedal?

There are some good comments here about compression, and yes, start with the studio comp, but play around with the different types, the Dyna comp is something Eric Johnson uses on his clean electric sound, it might translate to a good character on acoustic. I'm definitely hearing EQ as well as...

As far as rack mounted amp gear is concerned, a lot of people even add rack cooling fans, and with rack mounted amps, you are dealing with more confined spaces where heat can be trapped. I get your point about amp heads, but amp heads generally are surrounded by more ventilation area.
