Makes perfect sense, of course. Thanks for the quick reply, bud!

iPad USB Audio/MIDI Driver for Axe-Fx II

Hey all, Sorry to resurrect a dead thread but I haven't found much info on this elsewhere. Does anyone know if an Arduino or Teensy board (of which I have a few lying around) would do the trick or is it specifically a RPi task? Cheers!

SPDIF problem: AxeFxIII -> Focusrite direct doesn't work but does work via AxeFXII

Works fine on a Focusrite Scarlett 18i20. Nice to know it's definitely not the Axe-Fx.

SPDIF problem: AxeFxIII -> Focusrite direct doesn't work but does work via AxeFXII

I agree that should be the case, hence the head-scratching. Reinstalled Saffire Pro 14 driver but still no fix. Will test on friends' interfaces asap and report findings 🤷‍♂️

SPDIF problem: AxeFxIII -> Focusrite direct doesn't work but does work via AxeFXII

Hey all, SPDIF isn't working properly between Axe-Fx III and Focusrite Saffire Pro 14. Hoping for some opinions. The Axe-Fx III accepts audio from Saffire whether Saffire Sync Source set to Internal or SPDIF but only when Axe-Fx III Word Clock is set to SPDIF/AES IN. Whether I setup Axe-Fx...

Stupid question re: Axe-Fx III via USB into iPad and laptop simultaneously

Hi all, In case it's useful to anyone: this has turned out to be doable through MusicIO and StudioMux apps. Their VSTs will pick up sound from a laptop DAW and route it to an iPad app via a USB cable; the iPad app will then return the processed audio to the DAW via the same cable. No extra...

Stupid question re: Axe-Fx III via USB into iPad and laptop simultaneously

Thanks again, guys. I've already got Touch OSC on the iPad which Max communicates with from the laptop, meaning MIDI control of the iPad is already sorted if I'm happy to set and forget. Therefor maybe an iRig or Rode SC6 to get AxeFx or MBP sound into the iPad if I really insist on taking this...

Stupid question re: Axe-Fx III via USB into iPad and laptop simultaneously

Good call, and thanks for the quick responses. I need to process some AxeFx audio in MaxMSP on my laptop, along with sending/receiving MIDI commands. But I want to keep audio processing to a minimum on the laptop so was hoping to offload some of that work to the iPad with plugins in AUM or...

Stupid question re: Axe-Fx III via USB into iPad and laptop simultaneously

Hi gang, AxeFx-II owner looking at what the III is capable of as I’m designing a new live setup. Toying with the possibility of running AxeFx-III via USB into an iPad and a MacBook Pro at the same time for audio and MIDI processing at both destinations. So, a cable with USB-B one end going to...

Pitch block (AxeFx-II): shared controllers quick reference chart

Made this a while ago (and, reliably forgot to post it here!) as I couldn't find anything similar online. Don't know if it's going to be of use to anyone but I figure I can't be the only one who needs it. If you use different models on the Pitch block's different X and Y channels it may be...

Wish More instances of Looper block

Great minds, HurdyGuigui! I've done the same but in reverse for a rising Whammy fade in on the AxeFx-II (Pitch block Control and Mix attached to Sequencer). Sounds insane and is always reliable – and there's no riding expression pedals! This machine: 😘👌 So very close to jumping off the fence...

Wish More instances of Looper block

AxeFx-II user looking into getting a III which informs my approach: Can you attach the Looper Mix (series) or Level (parallel) to an internal LFO? Eventually the loop volume would reappear, but if you slope the LFO to have a lot of blank space where it keeps the volume down you could disengage...

Wish Can we PLEASE get back the old Looper control behavior?

Hi guys, did this get resolved? Should be that a value of 0-63 tells the looper to stop recording and that a value of 64-127 tells it to start, provided it's not in Toggle mode. What commands are you sending and from which DAW?

Any risk operating AxeFx-II on its side?

Haha thanks guys for these incredibly helpful replies. So far the oil dribbling up and out of the compressor hasn't prohibited cooling nor impacted power consumption! NMG, thanks man, would've not even considered stuff like that. Piing, waaaay into that book binder MIDI controller!

Any risk operating AxeFx-II on its side?

Title says it all but for context I’ve moved into a small space and am trying to set up the most practical and open workflow I can. I’d like to have the AxeFx-II standing vertically as opposed to usual horizontal placement so it can best fit. Any risk to the AxeFx operating it this way...
