Why does the Overdrive control default to noon and not 8.00 when you reset the amp block?

It's indeed spot on, as you say, though it begs the question of whether 8.00 might be a more natural default point.

Because:

Setting Overdrive to 8.00 will give the identical response to pre-10.10 for all models with the Overdrive control.

So that previous work done on presets is preserved to give you time to experiment with it vs. having to go revisit all your presets.

...but when I do, it's because I already had a tone I liked.

When you see what they put on phones, of all things, you'd think the most advanced piece of musical gear extant would have something a little more up-to-date. You'd be able to display so much more information so much more clearly.

Sure, with raising the cost of the unit. How about a screen that does the job and have a fancy editor for you computer. duh!
