what is max position on every knob: 10 or 12 ? What is default (knob in center) position? 5? or 6?

Seriously?

Actually turn the knob. It will then get "stuck" on 10 until you turn it 53 1/3 turns, then it will jump to 15. You can then turn it back and forth to go from 11 - 23.76 but no further. In order to get back to 1 though, you have to hit the bypass button while holding down both I/O and Enter. DO NOT LET EITHER ONE GO WHILE DIING THIS THOUGH OR THE PROCESSOR WILL EXPLODE. (No this is not covered under warranty.)

Just kidding man, I'm only having fun w you. Seriously, just turn the knobs and see what happens...

Looks like you're new to the axefx - it's 10 max, middle is 5

I love how you can really fine tune the preamp with these controls...lotsa shades of distortion/OD and EQ. Very cool stuff...

I know why cliff set the default at 5 and not 8. He wants us to back off the gain and have more dynamic tones damnit!

But thanks for all the help in this thread. I just got the II and had no idea what was going on with the 2 different gain knobs...
