Axe-Fx III Firmware Release Notes

32.02

Improved Amp block preamp modeling.

Added “Oversampling” parameter to Drive block. When set to HIGH the oversampling rate is doubled which results in less aliasing. NOTE: This will increase CPU usage considerably.

Reduced CPU usage in some blocks.

Fixed an issue where overdriving the input of the Amp block, whether with an external Drive block or using the internal Input Boost (or both), causes excessive aliasing for some amp models.

Fixed wrong Overdrive Volume taper in Fox ODS models. Audition presets and adjust as necessary.

Fixed an issue with the Euro Uber model where certain combinations of Presence and Depth can cause a crash.

Does the additional oversampling add additional latency? Or just increased cpu consumption

Is this 'on top' of the Oversampling Mode parameter in Setup? Because that applies to Drives too.

Can you explain in more details

I have a turbo so a cpu is less a problom

is it more drive?

My questions would be...
Was it originally set to "High" and did it have to come down in relation to the aliasing bug w/o causing a CPU hit?
Or is this an "Extra Quality -- Let's give the CPU a workout!" enhancement? ;)

Can someone explain what exactly is oversampling and aliasing?
I would compare it to Photoshopping on an enlarged version ["oversampling"] of your picture so your fixes won't be as obvious when scaling down again. (I would then only add the fixes to the original because scaling up/down also distorts the original)
Just saying that a lot of art is originally a larger piece of artwork before it looks seemingly perfect when scaled down to a magazine page.

IOW: scale it all up, do your thing, scale it all down again. This ideally should result in less obvious artefacts than processing on the original.

Hi, I don't see the new parameter in the drive block. Can anyone tell me where it is? Do I need to update the Editor to see it? I have version 1.14.29
