šŸ”„Introducing the new AM4 Amp Modeler

What about the quality of the analog path?
Is the am4 equal in quality to the axefx3 turbo?
I don't believe any Fractal products use a pure analog path from input to output. I could be way off .. but this is part of the accuracy and control of the entire signal path.

Until DSP latency gets closer to the speed of light. This is the best way to not induce phase/time shifts and comb filtered artifacts.

I think he's just asking about the analog portion of the signal path...

I think that still has A/D on it. As it should with DSP.

Parallel analog and DSP work fine mixed into a reverb or delay algo. But everything needs to align in the time domain with drives and amps and heavy cpu cycles like pitch.

And the FAS stuff is the finest in the world, but copper wire is still faster. I believe they are closing the gap. šŸ˜‰

The parts before A/D like the Axe Fx "secret sauce" circuitry, which I think was already confirmed for AM4, variable Input impedance, etc
Yep that amazing analog input side is unique to Fractal. And genius!
But I don't think it has a pure analog path all the way through to the outputs, which is a common concern of pedalboard folks.

Thank you for your replies.
I am not talking about analog dry through.
I understand this is not possible.
But not what I was trying to say.
( I am sorry, English is not my native language )
Before and after the ad/da part there is some analog stuff going on.
On the axe fx3, fx8 and vp4 this analog path is of high quality. "Transparent ".
When I put my vp4 ( without any fx active) in an analog loop pedal, to switch the vp4 in and out of the signal chain, I hear very little difference when it is in or out of that signal chain.

So does the am4 has the same low noise and transparency as the axefx3? ( or vp4)

So based on what I am reading, it has half the processing power of the Axe-FX III so it would be equivalent to an FM3 DSP-wise?

Love my FM9, but thinking one of these paired up with a Tonex One in the input loop for smaller rig would still give me the stereo amps that I love. I do need to learn more about what the switches can do with Gig mode for example for stomp mode.

Effect mode is for turning effects on and off. Scene mode changes between scenes. Preset mode changes between presets. Amp mode displays amp controls and tuner mode displays the tuner.
