🔥Introducing the new AM4 Amp Modeler

Is there a noisegate built-in to the front end like the Fractal input block or do you have to use up a block for one? Thanks

Every preset includes an adjustable noise gate, referred to as the Input Gate,
to distinguish it from the Noise Gate in the dedicated Gate block.
Located at the input—before any other blocks—it reduces unwanted noise
or hum by lowering the signal when it falls below a set threshold, especially
useful with high-gain amps or in noisy environments

AM4 + VP4 = maybe no need for 4cm with the VP4, leaving plenty of room for all those wonderful stereo post- fx.

I think this was a great idea.

Still hoping for a new FX8, maybe someday.

Easy, the EQ in the Tonex can be set pre or post.

The Tonex's generic EQ will not respond like the tone stack in the real amp. It's more like a separate EQ pedal you can put before or after the static profile. Lack of authentic adjustability is a big con on all the profiling devices. Unless you're capturing your own amps, you're stuck with whatever static snapshot of settings were used when the amp was captured. Sure you can EQ it some with the products controls, but it's definitely not the same as being able to adjust the knobs on the real amp.

Products like the Tonex can make great backup units though since you can profile your main rig and get very convincing copies of your pre-dialed in tones in a small and inexpensive package.

Only effects: yes. You have 4 blocks for that (plus Gate and EQ).
If you were to go with an only effects preset in some circumstances, is there an easy way to drop the output from line level down to unity gain?

I've been wondering whether presets and/or block libraries could be shared between this unit and my AF3; and found this on page 66 of the Owner's Manual:

"Amp, Cab and effect settings from Axe-Fx III, FM9, and FM3 can be matched by hand to reproduce familiar tones, but presets/blocks cannot be shared."

Minor disappointment but not a deal breaker.

To @Burgs and @2112.. thanks for the product preview videos!!

As usual, the dissenting opinion is told to F-off. If you disagree with my opinion of the product planning, please explain the market for the AM-4 and the market for the FM3 and how they are different enough to warrant two products that are essentially similar.
Your post wasn't dissenting pal it was downright RUDE.......................................There is a difference..................

Well, now I need to break into the post office and retrieve my letter to Santa.

What a great day. FAS releases the AM4 and FW12 beta for the FM3. :christmastree:

Thank you.

Don't know if that would make much sense. CPU is used either way. And a standalone Cab block allows for more flexibility. It makes sense though for the AM4.
With the FM9 I have 2 presets for electro-acoustic guitars without a block amp but with an IR block
