Axe-Fx III Firmware 29.01 Release

I experience a top end robing everytime I use whatever virtual capo
but I mean the warble was immediately noticeable in the Morpheus video you posted as well...actually sounded pretty terrible even a whole step down. Any pitch shifter I've ever heard or played has some degree of latency, high end roll off and warble, it comes with the territory. More noticeable on some, less on others...same for tones and styles.

I really don't think it will ever be possible for it to be a perfect 1v1 to the source tone.

That's the nature of pitch shifting. The harmonics of the signal get shifted along with the fundamental, so shifting down will give a darker sound and shifting up will give a brighter sound. One way to combat that is to combine pitch shifting with formant shifting to keep a more consistent tone with larger shifts. This is very obvious when pitch shifting voices. Instead of sounding like Alvin and the Chipmunks or inhaled helium, the voice sounds more like the same person singing naturally in a higher key or register.

On the Axe Fx did you adjust the High Cut in the Pitch block?

I'm pretty sure it defaults to 10k but it can go up to 20k.

Not sure it helps but I always notice that setting.
Wonder if adding a knob/parameter in the VC Block for Tilt EQ would let us quickly adjust for the new frequency range we are entering into?

I don't wish to stir the pot regarding the VC, just want to add my honest opinion. I've never been a pitch shift guy mostly because of the latency/artifacting that it usually introduces. However, the late Transpose function found in the NDSP X version of plugins (and in the QC too now?) seems to work great with incredibly low latency and pretty much zero artifacts for chords and notes alike without any parametering needed for best performance. Since it also works just as well in the QC it also doesn't seem to be a matter of computing power. Without any ill intent, the VC in the Axe is still far behind for me and a similar solution would be fantastic to have.
