Axe-Fx III Factory Presets for firmware 27.03

Oh man...just restored those. Can't wait to check these out!

When restoring these I ran into something interesting: I restored using the allbanks.syx file, and because I had one of my own presets in #384 I copied that to a higher number. Interestingly, after the restore my preset was still in tact in #384. Is fractal-bot designed to not overwrite a non-empty preset with an empty one or the like? That seems to be what happened. The restore clearly did work as I stop checked some of the new/changed ones.

Thanks a million FA for these and for everything you do!

I did the same and noticed some presets still had old names (e.g., Petrucci Rig 2023 vs 2025). RANF in Axe-Edit showed all the new values. Maybe not the same for you, but worked for me.

That's definitely not what happened here. I'm not even using Axe-Edit. This is on the unit itself after restoring and even powering off and on. It's clear that the restore worked. I see all the new preset names when I spot checked the ones that changed. However somehow it left my preset in #384 as-is for sure. I can only imagine that was related to the fact that #384 might be empty in the new presets.

Probably an old preset. The 384th preset slot would only be overwritten if your presets are set to start at 1 instead of 0. I suspect you have them set to 0 so the last preset in the updates, BYPASS, would be stored in slot 383 in this case.

Thanks for that list.

After comparing and analyzing, and BEFORE having audited the new presets on the device, below is the list of older factory presets that I don't see return in the new banks.

Possibly / Probably some of these are now part of another preset (as a scene). I hope so, as there quite a few favorites of mine among these. Or just retract these from the older banks and save them.

DELAY LEADS
ELECTRO-SWEEP
REVERB CRYSTALS
PONG CHORUS
INTRIGUE
PHASER "TREM" SYNC
ASIAN DOCUMENTARY
DIATONIC CHIMES
VALENTINE'S MASSACRE
CENTRIFUGE
DOUBLE DIFFUSOR
PERCEPTUAL REVERB
6TH STONE FROM THE SUN
ECHOES FROM GOD
GAMELAN 2021
FEEDBACKER
PING-PONG PONG-PING
BOUNCING ECHO
TEN-TAP ALPHA
MELANCHOLY
FREEWAY JAM
CLOCKWORK BANANA
NON-LIN VERBS
AVANT JAZZ
CE-1 CHORUS/VIBE
FIFTH TRIBE
SYNCHROSTEP FLANGER
FORLORN
COMB DELAYS
TIME AFTER TIME
CORBOMITE MANEUVER
CLOCKTOWER
REICH-LIKE
I just updated the presets (finally) and found the Corbomite Maneuver in #986 (I expected it to be absent). Did I do something wrong? (I should mention I installed the new banks in the last 3 banks on my unit)

Edit: RANF!

While that will have the same effective results, all you need to do is go into Manage Presets and click the refresh button.

RANF does other refreshing that's not really required in this case...

Tweed Deluxe - Fuzz Lead FX: straight up blues playground!
Super Verb - very fun SRV town
Matchbox Chiefman Lead - awesome
As a blues/hard rock/thrash kinda guy (riffer first, bendy "feely" slower handed lead player second) The Chieftain is one of the few amps that broke me out of just Mesas, Marshalls, 5150 etc. There is a certain stringy/chewy "timbre" and pleasing crunch in the gain structure on that amp. Perfect for blues/hard rock and it makes bends and palm mutes sound soooo crisp and delicious. Great choices sir!

Hope I didn't overlook someone else already mentioning this, but in the new preset #71 Dizzy VH4, Scene 1 naming references Channel 2 on the Dizzy V4 Silver, but the attached amp indicates Dizzy V4 Silver 3. Scene 2 refers to Channel 3, but the attached amp indicates Dizzy V4 Silver 2. I thought it odd that Channel 3 (scene 2) of this amp seemed to have a signifiant gain deficit compared to "Channel 2" (scene 1). I looked at settings on the amp(s) first, then noticed what seems was an unintentional switcheroo. Really just a details thing, and still loads of thanks go out to all involved in putting together the updated presets.

Cheers,
Lee

Please let me know if I acted rashly, before my coffee kicked in. lol. Didn't get a chance for coffee until about 5:30pm!

I will be sad to say goodbye to the Corbomite Maneuver, if only because it’s my favorite preset title.

I actually was frustrated with being unable to figure out how to download last years xmas gifts. Sent me on a path of buying amp heads and pedals
I had a time figuring out how to load the GOT year before so I ended up dragging the preset to my desktop and then drag them into axe edit and they worked fine but I had to open the file and drag them to my desktop first. I’m sure there is a better way but this worked for me.

I just did something that is very hard for me : talking in front of a camera. I just hate my voice, and the way I speak English (I'm French)

Anyway : Here's some backstory and details on my personal contributions to the stock presets

This part was meant to be the intro to the video, but I removed it, and put in in another video, "unlisted" this time. What a trauma ! lol
