Wish ADA MP-1

Bumping this still waiting…… I have to send one my MP-1 out but once it’s back from service I’ll gladly drop one off and ether my Marshall 9200 and or ADA Microtube 200 power amp to be modeled. Be no problem im in Manchester only a half hour from Fractal HQ in New Hampshire. Hell I’d gladly donate one of my MP-1 & Microtube 200 for the cause.

Awesome! I think unfortunately you'd have to sell it to them since updating the modeling over time means remeasuring the gear.

I'd gladly donate & deliver along with let them have at no cost to keep one of my ADA MP-1 along with its matching ADA Microtube 200 hybrid power amp to Cliff and the Fractal crew if they would actually model it for the AFX3/FM3/FM9 and future fractal units. It would be well worth it to me as the ADA MP1 is my tone & it would preserve the tones these things offered many of us and to some hit records we all love and as then i and every one else would always have access to the sounds these units that are getting up there in age and sooner or later wont be reparable as the Chips/IC and soft touch buttons controls are no longer available to keep them going once they die.

Oh cool, I understand. You might try writing FAS directly to offer! You never know.

I’m an adjacent subject. The ADA MB – 1. Bass preamp would be fantastic to have also. I think it’s even more unique than MP – 1.. I’ve tried at length to copy it with amps in the fractal and never really came close. It’s pretty special.

This wish thread was started 4 years ago. Many amps have been added in the meantime. I am assuming it isn't going to happen and that there is a reason for it.

It was an extremely popular preamp, and it's easy to get. If it hasn't been modeled by now, there's a reason. I've given up on it. What I'd really like is the original Lead 1 Red mode of the Mesa Triaxis with the Fat Mod. The Triaxis is no longer serviceable, and it's only a matter of time before it's extinct. But that's a different thread.

Most of us who were around for the Lead 1 Red mode with Fat Mod when it came out are also approaching unserviceability and extinction....

If you guys want to approximate one and make your own, find a four gain stage amp model, turn off the cathode follower, use a null tone stack and a four band output EQ Pre-PA, or an active tonestack, and turn off preamp sag.

ADA MP1's are mid heavy, so for most tones expect to scoop the mids (just sold my rare ADA MP-1 Channel pedal).

I'll make my annual MP-1 comment. As a guy who drooled over that pre as a teen, and played one onstage for 5 years in the 90s...

We ain't missing nothing. If you like the voicing and are looking for that sizzly sound... Try the Hot Kitty sim. The topology may be different, but everything that was decent about the MP-1 is better in the Kitty.

It's a fun preamp, but I imagine the issue with modeling it is pairing it with an appropriate power amp. Personally I'd love it modelled with the Brit 800 power section.

I have 3, which is absolutely excessive, so I'd be more than happy to donate one to @FractalAudio if Cliff wants to model it.

Leon, I am curious when you run your MP1 through the AXE FXIII do you have a preset set up for this you can share , I have a few of them and would'nt mind trying them out through the AXE... also have you seen the MP1 plug in nembrinin audio has made or tried it out yet?
