Fender Tone Master Pro....

I'm still messing with the TMP and I have to say it does have some excellent sounds in there. Definitely very high quality.

One "quirk" is that some of the delays have a bit of tone suck when placed after high gain amps. This is particularly evident with the DMM models. When they are engaged, even with the mix on zero and the DMM gain at about unity (24-ish), it's like blanket is thrown over the tone a bit attenuating the highs. This isn't noticeable with a clean tone. I have no idea if that's the way a normal DMM reacts but I guess I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here (for now) because most of its other delay models don't do this. And the Tape Echo has a slight but noticeable boost when engaged which I guess is simulating the preamp in it. If that's by design the DMM thing may be as well.

I like the touch screen for selecting things and for simple things like switch toggles. For anything that involves turning a knob, I very much prefer using the footswitch knobs.

I originally really liked the big master volume knob but Fractal's individual knobs for the outputs are better in practice imo.

Fender definitely needs more amp models and more effects.

Overall I really like it and am able to quickly get inspiring sounds. With all that said...it's still going back. :)

Spent an hour or so with the FR-10 today, pretty impressed so far! Feel like there's more 'weight' too my tone compared to my headrush, I'm running standard AC30 amp and dynacabs for all of my presets, but have about 20 presets overall with different effects/tones depending on song.

I did boost the treble and mid slightly too taste, probably just over 1 o'clock, which probably means I'll have to revisit my presets and change a few amp settings within the FM3 at some point. I'm more of the rhythm guitarist but do have some lead in some songs, we're gigging Friday so will so how well it holds up with the rest of the band.

Sorry if I missed something in this thread but does anybody know what processor(s) is(are) used? some press mentions about 4 more cores than in the QC (so 8 cores) but what processor is that?

Don’t know for sure but Clif memtioned it may be an A53

Ok. This thing is going back (which was my intent when I bought it; and GC was good with that FWIW).

I like it overall but it has some definite maturing it needs to do. I think that's understandable in the current environment where most companies release things a bit early and let the users be their beta testers.

All the things I think need to be fixed can likely be fixed via firmware updates. Those changes would help justify the price (which is a bit high for the current state of it) so I believe it probably has a bright future.

Was going to use the FR-10 on gig last Sat., but the place was too small.
I did, however use it for practice at home and I thought it sounded really good.
Just went straight from Output 1/L to FR-10. Had the Vol about 10 O'Clock,
tone controls at noon, high cut off. AxeIII Output 1 between 10-12 O'Clock.
Using a EV-1 pedal for Vol, had plenty of Volume and good full tone with my gigging preset.

One drawback for me is that when I'm using the AxeIII, I usually place my rack atop the
cabinet and control the AxeIII with a FC-6 foot switch. Doing so wouldn't allow me to use
the tilt-back legs or access the top mounted controls. So this will be better suited when I
have more room and can place the cab a ways behind me and tilt back. Then stand the rack next to it.
For the FM9, there is no rack involved, so it's easier to place the cab and access the controls
and tilt-back.

A friend also purchased a FR-10, so we're going to set them up in stereo to test with both
the AxeIII and FM9. I'll report back...

I picked up my FTM on Friday. The UI is very easy to navigate and as advertised it does not need a manual to set up. I did have some issues with squealing when using the tape echo and well using the 65 Reverb deluxe I experienced what sounded like microphonic feedback. The unit crashed on me once and needed to be rebooted. I was able to dial is some nice cleans but was always left with a feeling of something was missing. I did not touch the FTM of my FM3 Mark ll Turbo for 3 days. I plugged into the Fractal this morning and found to me what was missing was the warmth that is associated with a tube amp. The FTM does not duplicate that and it left it missing a fullness that left me wanting. I did plug into the FTM after that to see if I could dial in the high and low cuts to try and smooth out the tones and the sound was muffled. I rebooted it and it happened again. Long story short I am very happy that I gave the FTM a test drive. It makes me appreciate so much more what we have in Fractal and their continued updates and improvements. They have a vast library of amps, effects, drives and cabs, and I know my self there are times where I take for granted what a fantastic tool Fractal has produced. If there is anything that I would like to see Fractal add, that would be Bluetooth connectivity for backing tracks or online tutorials, and an xlr in with phantom power for a mic. Anyway just my thoughts.

Just so I don't get way off track here, by FMT you mean the Fender Tone Master Pro floor modeler, yes?

I am not at all saying that the FTM is a bad unit. I have had some issues with the individual unit I received but the tones that I was able to dial in were ver usable.

Quick question about the form factor for the people who have purchased and/or tried out the FTM - any issues with covering multiple switches at one time with your foot? It looks like the switches are fairly close together, closer than on my FM9T, or the Helix, and I have gigantic wafflestompers for feet (US size 13.5). I don't think I'd be able to use the Quad Cortex at all (although I was scolded for saying so in the comments of a youtube video, someone pointed out that Rabea has size 13 feet, and he doesn't have any issues), and I actually have hit more than one switch at a time on the FM9T (usually when trying to tap out a tempo - I'm trying to figure out a way to move the tap tempo to the lower right position, but I'm not sure if I can without impacting the switch combination that takes you back to the master layout).

Anyways, I have no interest in buying one, I'm just curious what people's thoughts about it are.

I think this thing looks amazing. I want to try one to just try it. I do not think for a second that I will want it over the Fractal stuff. But like a fat chick with big tits.....you still want to see them.

For TMP owners:
can i route the entire chain on xlr output, but spill the signal before the cab and route It to another out (to send a real PA and real cab)? There is a specific splitter block for this?

I ware size 10.5 shoes. I find that with a shoe on and using the foot switch I have about 1/4 inch on each side of my foot to the switches I either side of the switch I am toggling.
