I'm so excited about this new chapter in York Audio's story. Check out my NEW WEBSITE with four new cab packs in .wav format at www.yorkaudio.co
I'm having a Site Launch Sale right now!

I've had this cab for well over a year and have shot it at least six times, but never felt like it was quite right. I wanted to honor the cab, so I played it a ton and got it sounding great. I took my time learning its sweet spots and the complexity of the V30/Creamback relationship. It's an extremely diverse cab with an incredible amount of tonal variety between each individual speaker and the BLND mixes.

The York Audio ZILA 212 Cab Pack is based on a Zilla Fatboy 2x12 cabinet loaded with their classic combination of Celestion Vintage 30 and Creamback H75 speakers. The Creamback hits like a hammer with punchy attack, woody midrange, and a smooth top end. The Vintage 30 is aggressive with tight low end and bite to cut through a heavy mix. With a throaty pick attack, this cab loves high gain and low drop-tuned guitars.
Single mic captures and multi-mic mixes are included for each speaker as well as speaker blend mic mixes.

Mics included in this Cab Pack:
57 - based on a Shure SM57
421 - based on a modern Sennheiser MD421
906 - based on a Sennheiser e906
SM7 - based on a Shure SM7b
121 - based on a Royer R-121
160 - based on a Beyerdynamic M160
414 - based on an AKG C 414

And here’s a question all you IR producers will be seeing a lot since FW11 was released - what impulse curves work the best ?

Ha! My favorite type of speaker in a world class cabinet. Looking forward to this!

This cab is definitely killer for non-metal tones too! Here's a clip with the Euro Blue and one of the mixes.

I was not expecting this at all, but thought you nailed a grittier funky Daft Punk vibe on that one. Great solo tone when you open up the volume! Thanks for the cool video!

The H75 turned out surprisingly well. I shot this cab a bunch of times and always struggled with that speaker in particular, but think it sounds fantastic now! Very glad I waiting on this pack and didn’t release any of the earlier shoots.

Thank you for your support. It means a lot. You’ll have to let me know what you think about the H75. I know you’re mainly a single mic fan, but check out the mixes for that one. There are some really cool tonal options in there.

Congrats on the new store Justin! :)
Thanks man! It took a lot of work, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. Gotta figure out why the homepage images look right on desktop and mobile, but shift on iPads and laptops. It all works as expected, just gotta figure out why the images want to drift. Oh well. All things considered, it's a small thing to correct.

It's quite a battle of trying to keep things "pretty" and "concise" and I think you did a really good job. :) Many stores like this look like they were made in the 90s.

Love it. I've settled on the Mix 02 IR (H75 by itself or the V30-H75 Blend), because the bass is a little tighter than 01.

I just made some better examples of the Mixes in this pack. I used the HBE 2018 C45 model with the same amp settings for all clips to showcase the tonal diversity of the mixes and how drastically they can shape your tone.

Here are the BLND Mixes (V30/Creamback H75 speaker blend)

Let me know what you think!

I’ve previously heard IRs of the Creamback G12H75, as well of soundclips of a real Creamback G12H75, and always thought it sounded muffled. Not so much with this cab back. These Creamback G12H75 IRs sound so well defined and full. Makes me want to buy a Creamback G12H75 for my Mojotone Canyon 1x12 cab.

Thanks a lot! I’m really pleased with how that speaker turned out, and it’s a great compliment to the V30 as well. I’m glad you’re digging it so far!
