    I think it is important to keep in mind that on the actual Mark V, mkII is a "mode"...as great as it is, it will never be 100% of an actual IIc+. Same as the Mark IV mode. Great, but not exactly the same. The Mark series in General is IMHO the most "touchy" amps I ever owned

    4CM Humbusters on A2 outputs only?

    I use 3 hum busters in 4cm. One for each out of the axe. Don't know if you *need* them at each out, but it works so well and wasn't cost prohibitive, so there wasn't any reason not to just get it done. That was money WELL spent.

    I tried several adapters, and just got frustrated. The answer is simple- just have some cables made or do it yourself. I am not handy with a soldering iron, but my investment was $42. Worth. Every. Penny. Hum buster outs work. If you have bad white noise in 4cm, you need to get the cables.

    So far, the noise with the axe in 4cm is a deal breaker. I love the axe, and I love the Mesa. The axe works great in the loop of the amp- but then the flexibility in effect routing is compromised. Pissed.

    In 4cm, out 2 connects to the amp input. When using the Axe in the effect loop of the amp, it is only out 1...so it has got to be an issue with out 2, but Fractal Support said with my Axe (mark2), the mod wasn't necessary. Which makes me curious about the ART clean box....

    The Mark I mode in the V has no equivalent in the Axe- at least not that I have found- I would love to be proven wrong...so I am really looking forward to trying to match the tone from the ground up. I also look forward to building dedicated effect patches for a 4CM set up.

    Upgrade the prom. I use a EurekaPROM from Eurekasound. It makes the FCB very powerful, and idiot proof to program. I have also used the UNO prom, but for my needs, the Eureka is the one. Not very expensive either.

    Fw11 is the first modeling that I have been able to use a amp block and cab block alone and get lost playing without *needing* additional effects. That includes reverb. Get an amp sounding great,and the effects simply enhance the sound. Like thy we're designed to do. Great stuff.
