    I was wondering about this also. I never noticed this with my Ultra but it's pretty darn obvious on the Axe FX II. I've set engage to Fast and experimented with the other settings but to no avail. Fast just feels/sounds more natural yet is still obvious when it engages/disengages.

    I don't think yours is defective. I've had a standard and 2 ultras. I can't recall with my standard (too long ago) but my 2 Ultras definitely do it. I'm in the same boat. Very conservative settings but it's still there when you dig in (just much more subtle)

    I tried a single coil guitar and a humbucker guitar. Both had the sound. All the levels are very conservative and I also have gotten this sound from presets people have uploaded before. Definitely a higher frequency breakup type sound but not musical at all.

    I get a similar thing on clean to slightly dirty amps where if I dig in when I play a note, there's a very unnatural noise/distortion happening. I'll do some further research to see if I can work out why it's doing that.
