What’s so radical about 25? I agree that fractal stands out with the care and updates and they do also radical changes/improvements such as adding scenes, dyncabs etc but with this update I migh be missing the radical part.

….yes but you are not hearing that neve preamp at all. Just a basic frequency response/eq curve of it…no harmonics/distortion etc so no neve mojo. Dyna Cabs/the system and the new IRs are great though, dont get me wrong.

i was thinking about this last week and was not sure if remember it right that some sort of safety feature was added to avoid blowing the speaker when amp blocks are in series and both accidentally get activated. Is this the latest state? So without any risk can we place 2 amp blocks in series?

nope, those are all sysex...i am not using midi CCs at all with the GT16 and Axe Fx. GT16 is already pre programmed for Axe Fx and the basic functions (on off, preset, scene, channel selection, tap tempo, tuner, looper etc etc) work already via sysex and not midi “CC”ies Midi CC page on my axe...

its not only the crackles, also some modifiers stop just working, like phase mix parameter is attached to external 3, works but the chorus mix attached to external 3 does not work. external 2 works on both blocks still. if i delete the chorus block and reprogram the modifiers it starts working...

yes, 2 amp blocks. if this is the case i think its something fractal should pay some attention to. people feeling safe with CPU usage might end up having issues on stage. which is not good…at the studio, was not a big deal for me. still will force me to modify all my live presets.

for studio, if you are doing serious production, axe fx 3 (even the standard) is overkill cause 9 out of 10 times you will record without reverb and delay and fm3 has enough power for modulation fx or drive block you might want to use. If you are gonna play live and you have complex presets...

neither sonarworks room correction which i used for 3 years, nor neumann monitor’s dsp room correction i use now take a single spot measurement. Sweetspot tolerance is wider than you think. And your ear compensate also quite some….otherwise you would even not move/turn your head an inch even...

it was not ment seriously/the way you guys got it…I was trying to say if you think that way, if you ask that….you can think also this way and ask this. And added my experience, thought on that matter. I think 5-6 amps, 5-6 cabs, with all the advanced parameters you can get all the tones out...

What do people mean when they say modelers "lack the amp feel"?

So much talk about amps/cabs, but not much about guitar models/mics

I have a preset for each guitar i own, and 1 for the bass. And each preset has 8 scenes programmed for these amps: Matchless DC30, Dumble, JTM45, Plexi 100w and Hiwatt Dr103(being my main amp choice, IMHO dr103 can do most better than most). Some amps have only 1 corresponding scene, in my world...

they already have plugins, so they have the programmers if they wanted to do it...would be a great feature if it happened but also i am not missing it that bad even though i use axe fx almost daily for commercial releases.

How are you measuring dB to ensure the best preset sound/level?

This depends also a lot on size of room, speakers distance to listening position etc...i would loose my hearing if i was mixing at 85dB daily in my studio. In my control room 75dB is already...LOUD. 73dB feels the most confortable level. Though recording electric guitar(with AXE FX) feel is...
