Nice! Great mix! For me, I d/l presets just to see where people make changes. The only preset patches I have been able to use straight away have been from Mark Day, the rest I will use ideas from or tweak heavily to suit my guitars/hands.

Sounds ok to me too, if you don't like the extra high end you can tune some of it out with a PEQ or graphic EQ. I think when it's double tracked and in a mix it will sound good as is though. Something I'm realizing right now is mix ready guitar often sounds a little odd all by itself where...

How should I approach this tone?

To me it sounds like the same part, doubled, with some delay and pinch harmonics. The pinch is always a little bit different so when put down together it gives it that phasey sort of sound. I could be off but I'm betting it's something simple and just executed very well.

Cliff hit the nail on the head. You pump volume at the guitar, it vibrates, you record the guitar, master/mix/etc and there you go. I don't think this can be "faked" digitally. At the end of the day you need those strings and wood humming to get that tone.

I'm also a fan of the HBE. So far my fav cab on the II is the Recto V30 (OH) with no mic. Also really like a blend of the OH Recto no mic and the Cali w/SM57. I'm using this cab combo, or close to it, with pretty much every amp patch.

I just figured it out. You have to go in project settings under the file menu. Of course there was a mismatch here and that was causing issues. Distortion and phase/tempo problems are gone but I still get some clicks/pops here and there. At least its usable now....

Horrific noise when recording into Logic, but not Ableton

Anyone know how to double check the bit depth and sample rate in Reaper? I think I'm having this same issue, aggregate device is setup good now with everything on 48/24 but I can't find anywhere in Reaper where to set these. Getting the same kind of noise. There is a media buffer selection...

DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT!!!!!!!! I fixed part of the problem...but now another has risen in it's place, even worse than the first. The deal with the low and slow...I feel stupid for admiting to this one...but it was a problem of sample rate. The II was running at 48, the system at 44.1...

Ok so I had a chance to play with this some more today. Odd things abound. The cable seems to work find as long as it goes into a powered bus before the computer, otherwise it looses signal and back-up/sync stuff will usually fail before it's complete. No biggie there, have a bus right next...
