Wish Wish List: New Amps

Very new to Fractal so not sure if it’s been touched upon, but a Laney amp model of some kind would be really cool. I play a lot of doom metal so this would come in handy.

In the meantime, try the hiwatt, fas bass, 1959slp, plexi 100, mesa bass amps, orange RV50, wrecker, twin. And then experiment with tonestack swaps and bright cap values. Put the coloursound, big muff or tonebender in front of an amp and it’s a ton of fun.

Im hoping we eventually get the OR100, model T, etc but tbd. My main doom preeset uses fas bass and i run a 70s 100w superlead + board in my band.

I’m trying to do a tone match with my OR50 (also have an OR80) just gotta get organised and see how it goes.

Would love to see these and perhaps some Science Amps like the Mother and Earthling.

Is the Omega Granophyre still possible? Is there something holding it back? I heard about it happening soon years ago.

According to my calculations of requests in this thread, this is one of the most frequently requested amplifiers, along with the ADA MP-1 and Randall RG100/ Warhead, VHT Ultralead, Engl Fireball. Every time I listen to it in Neral DSP, STL AMP Hub and videos on YouTUBE, I understand that it simply must be in Fractal devices. It has a special, characteristic sound, which perhaps no longer needs any introduction.

Guys, there needs to be a Fortin Evil Pumpkin / Meshuggah / Cali amp. It’s a high in-demand tone among metal and extreme-metal players. The popularity of its software counterparts already demonstrates strong amp-market fit.

Please consider. 🙏

I wish for some modern high gain amps in Fractal world. That's the only place I feel it's a bit lacking.
Meshuggah amp, RedSeven, or something else in that area can be super nice to have.

While I wouldn't be averse to modern high gain amps, I believe there is ample to choose from and the "modding" capabilities of the axe fx probably lets us approximate the amptones we are seeking asymptotically. Having said that, I wouldn't mind Cliff specifying some specific shortcuts for us, (f.ex. how to get from uberschall to uberschall 2). I do not know if that is possible for him at all, though, I figure he would also need to see schematics or stick his nose into the respective amps.

Mostly now I play Fryette Deliverance in AX FXIII, it sounds very cool, angry and clear. What you need to train your technique.
When I got my Sig:X I realized I needed to clean up my technique because even the high gain settings aren't overly compressed. In short time it made me a better player and even my clean playing improved significantly.

I originally bought the Power Station because I knew I wanted a Deliverance but Gain I and Gain II are so effective I found I didn't really need it.

The Deliverance is my favorite amp to play when I'm in a position to really let 'er rip. The Fractal model isn't bad either and was my go to amp block for many years.

The Sig X panel looks like an airplane panel. I think it's a nightmare for accurate modeling, there are so many switches. I know Fryette is working on Ultralead II, I wonder when it will come out and what it will be like.
Fryette essentially has 3 main amplifiers: Ultralead, Deliverance and Sig X. Ultralead is iconic, but I’m not entirely sure how it differs from others besides the equalizer. I've heard comparisons between Synergy Ultralead and Deliverance modules and it looks like Ultralead has more Gain.
Has anyone had experience playing with different VHT/Fryette amplifiers including the Ultralead, how do they differ from each other?

I also know that the early Ultralead dates from the early-mid 90s to 2000, especially the first versions differ in sound from those that came later. The early ones seem to be warmer, meatier, voluminous and slow with a wide bottom. And the later ones are colder, clearer, denser and faster. The early ones are more valuable, sort of organic. I think this should be taken into account if there is ever a desire to model them in AX FXIII.

Speaking of Omega Granophyre. In my coordinate system, it is conditionally in the middle between Fryette and Mesa Rectifier products. It has the clarity, intelligibility of a Fryette and the depth, bass, meatiness of a Rectifier.

some VHT sound for connoisseurs

Yeahhh, I found a recent video comparing Ultralead and Deliverance.

Actually I would think the switches should be straightforward to model. They're not variable, which would be more complex, they're either on or off.

I think people who haven't spent time with the Sig:X find the number of choices daunting but the variable controls are pretty basic and the tone shaping switches quickly become a matter of choice and once set tend to be left in place rather than going through them all every time you play.
