Will this ever sound good in a live band setting?

When using my CLR as a backline amp, as opposed to a monitor, I always low- and highpass the signal. Works great for me.

Another advantage is that lowpass + highpass contribute to a focused tone. When narrowing the frequency range, I don't have to turn up the volume as much and I hear myself better.

Every time when I compare an unlimited FRFR range (20 - 20.000 Hz) tone to a high-/lowpassed tone, I prefer the latter (in a band situation).

Just a clarifying question. Don't you mean blocking high and low frequencies (ie. PEQ Block with Band 1 + 5 set to "Blocking")? Highpass means "passing" or letting high frequencies above a certain cutoff frequency through, and blocking frequencies below that.

So I think what you're talking about is the typical frown face PEQ setting with high and low frequencies blocked?

Again, just trying to make sure I understand. :)

I use Low Cut Freq and High Cut Freq in the Cab block. That's (about) the same as using a PEQ set to Blocking.
Low Cut = high-pass.
High Cut = low-pass.
