Which presets are best for a telecaster

I’m a new Tele player and I too, am having a hard time getting the compression and snap/punch sound correct, on any patch I use.

What the hell is 'Country' now a days. You play the damn thing and if it sounds good call it whatever you want. For Fractal, have found that keeping it simple gives the best results in general. I like using the 'drive' settings in the 'amp' block instead of adding a drive block. IMO the drive blocks are the achilles heal of all modelers incl Fractal units. You might even want to use an external compressor of choice going to the input of the FM. Add a delay block and a spring reverb and call it good. Most amp blocks will work with the right settings. The cab block can be a bit of a pain to choose but once you get some favorites that play well with your playback system and telecaster you are on the road to success. In any case, you should create your own preset(s) and start simple.

Old Thread:

Soooo late to the party. I never had an interest in a tele until a had the urge a couple of weeks ago. WOW! The range of tones are awesome! I was chasing the cleanest tone I could get with a sprinkle of 'sizzle' on top. I got that right and was floored by how big the front and middle positions sound. Now I'm picking up some slide. I had a clean setting in my main preset and it sounds awesome especially with a tad touch of micro-boost added, which I added after reading this and another tele thread.

Been loving it for last two or 3 weeks and fortunately for me I have @austinbuddy 's Naked Amp pack from a couple of years back. I was reading this thread again and took his advice. The Morgan AC20 preset from that pack is a perfect match. Thanks @austinbuddy For the amp suggestions in this thread.

I bought the crap tele too. The Standard. I tried the Player 2 in the store and felt the pickups were too hot for what I wanted. I'm looking for the lowest gain p/u and this one sounded better to my ears. I thought it was an Alnico 5 but I'm reading it may be ceramic. Made in Indonesia. Sounds great to my ears and plays comfortable with the modern C neck and Jumbo frets. I dunno. This one sounded bigger and better than the Player II that I tried. I'm sure I'll do the 'blend' mod or swap the pickups at some point. Right now I'm just enjoying what I've been missing out on. Playing along to old Eagles tunes and trying to up my slide game.
