Which guitar wireless unit to get

Line 6 G50 here since they came out. Never had an issue or a dropout in years. It is now in my axe fx rack on a 1u shelf with velcro. Doesn't move at all.
I want to go for a g55 racked for aesthetics though.

Line 6 G50 with extra receiver as well. Have the thing racked in the back side of my rack with the extension cables on the antenna to bring them to the front. Also have 2 transmitters and leave those on my straps. Great system.

I've got both and IMO the Shure (pedal based)is a much better unit. The Line 6 is now just a backup (which hasn't been used since I got the Shure).

Just got a G90. Blew my mind how clear it is. Better than a cable. Only had it about a week, but see what all the hype is about. Solid construction & inexpensive price point for both the receiver and transmitter. VERY simple to use.

Make sure to replace the transmitter cable with a Lava or equivalent (from what I hear). Mine came with a Lava cable replacement.

Dont use the Shure with other wireless systems. In my band we use 3 wireless line 6 mics and 2 for guitar. Now our trumpetplayer wanted to use the Shure and had no reception at all!!

It is a cool set with the battery charger and stuff but it is just a low budget system.

This seems a little unlikely that it doesn't work with other systems being used at the same time. You always need to make sure you're not on the same frequency of another unit.

I've got a G50 and a G90. Both have been flawless in four years of 30-ish gigs per year. I use two transmitter packs, one on each guitar. With the G50 I have to turn one off and the other on to switch. With the G90 you can set two channels, one for each pack, then just push a button the front to switch. Easy peasy. Our bass player has just bought the G55 and is equally as impressed.

For batteries, I buy the Duracell Procell range, that work about at about 20p each. I usually get two gigs and two soundchecks out of a set. Although, to be honest, they're that cheap, that putting a fresh set in for each gig wouldn't break the bank!

I've not tried the Shure so can't offer any comparison, just my experience in the Line 6 units.

Ofcourse we did check all the available channels.
It is a low budget system. So there are only so many channels.

It is the way it is.

Don't compare systems that cost about 400,- euro with professional systems that cost 10 times this amount.

As i said in my previous post, it is a fine system when you don't use it with 5 Line 6 systems together.

I am EXTREMELY happy with the Shure GLXD; I rack it with a drawer and a piece of velcro on top of it - it sits very flush up against the Axe-FX in my little SKB rack.

It's transparent, range is very good, it's been 100% for me for a long time now (can't remember when I bought it) and the battery life is - by FAR - the best I've ever come across and battery life monitoring is accurate to the minute. I get well over 16 *real* hours of use from it. Astounding battery life. Had I known how honestly good the battery is, I'd have not even bothered buying a backup battery (but I did and it sits in the base charger until I need it).

Total thumbs up on it. Gigged in real life; passed the test for me. Main strike on the Line 6 units for me was the battery life. Shure is the best I've ever seen in my life.

I like my GLXD so much that I recommended the mic version for my singer and she and I have been using our respective GLXD units on the same gigs with no issues.

I can't recommend it highly enough.

Do you think I'd have any signal issues with the pedal version being inside my rack since there aren't any antennas to face outside the Rack like the other version has?

Hi Scott, how many people in your band play wireless in the 2.4 GHz range?

And if there are others, what system do they use?

I do not know other than to say it will need a decent sight line to you IMHO.

Two; Laura and I are the only two on wireless. We both use the GLXD.

Hi Scott, thanks for the reply,
2 systems of the same model should not give problems.
But in my band there was no signal left at all.

We just played in a casino last week with 6 wireless Units running in the band and the casino I'm sure had tons of employees and wireless signals running. No problems at all there.
