Where can I get old fractal speaker IRs?

Hello,

since updating to v19.00, I have found that 2 of my favourite heavy IRs, the OH V30 and the RW V30 have been replaced.

Is there somewhere I can get these again, other than buying them?

Apologies if this has been asked on previous updates, but I did a search and came up with nothing.

Thanks, but I have that one.

The ones I am after have been around for ages and were some of the first we got directly from outside sources as part of a firmware update.

I have just gone back to 19.03b and the speakers are there.

They are the Recto V30 RW and Recto V30 OH. The bonus is my stereo mix is also really good for cleans. I have a gig tomorrow, so I will stay on the beta, until I find an answer or an alternative.

I bet you need to get them from RW and OH respectively. Fractal can't give those IR's unless they told Fractal it was ok

Can't you just export them, and then put them back when you go back up?

As far as I can tell, you can only export User Cabs. I also looked into saving the block in Axe Edit, but all that does is reference the factory cabs which, of course, change with the firmware update.

I have tried a tone match this morning and while it sounds similar, it is missing some of the mojo of the speakers.

I have the same problem, Fractal replaced one of my favorite cabs in v18. I used it in half of my presets. I think its fine when Fractal drops in new cabs, but there really needs to be a way to obtain the legacy versions, otherwise this creates a lot of rework which can be hours of effort, on existing presets.

The fractal cabs are fused within firmware updates, so you can't separate them out, and pick the ones you want.

I wrote to Cliff privately, and told him I'd pay him to populate my Mark I's factory cabs to UR, since I don't use the factory cabs anymore, but due to the way the firmware is encrypted, it is not possible, and even if it was possible, it would have to be done with every beta or firmware upgrade, to preserve my custom factory cab configuration.

I don't know enough about computer programming, to understand the hurdles involved, but I wish there was a Fractal User portal, where I could populate the factory slots to my liking, and then marry it to the rest of the latest firmware, to create my own custom firmware, that had the factory cabs the way I wanted them, and still have the protected encryption on it, to prevent theft. But I guess I will have to wish in one hand, and......

As an alternative for the OP, you can try the UR Recto and Recto New. I believe they are factory cabs 129 &130.They sound great, especially together in stereo.

Got to agree there!

After multiple attempts at shooting Tone Matches, this proved to be the answer. Many thanks ocaptainjr2.
