What guitar are you playing today?

Determined to make some acoustic scenes on the FM 9. Playing with the J-40 (far right), its big and its buttery smooth. The 00-18 actually sounds the best as Its bottom end heavy. The D-35 is better left unplugged and on the porch with a big glass of sweet tea.

This is my 2nd Warmoth build.
Today I removed the old bridge (Gotoh) and pickups (SD humbuckers) and put the Gotoh In-Tune bridge,
and Seymour Duncan Five-Two pickups back in it. Changed the plastics to try a different color.
Pots are MojoTone 250k Vintage taper. I really like these pots. Before and after pictures.
I used Sutherland Welles polymerized tung oil to finish the neck. I love the look and feel of their products.

Wow, that's a peach!

The metal guy in me has reawakened. On top of buying a 5150, I have been playing my 2006 Caparison Dellinger Pro for the last few weeks and playing a lot of Chimaira and Killswitch Engage. I also bought a Boss NS1-X and a Maxon OD9 and they're proving an amazing combo to use in front of the Fractal for high-gain amp models. Thoroughly enjoying the chugs.

Right now, this is the guitar I'm playing. For a while, I had a love/hate relationship with it but now, I just think it's an amazing instrument. It sounds great, lots of sound options, the action is pretty much perfect, looks great and feels great in your hands.

Initially, when I got it and after setting everything up the way I liked it, it played real nice but the finish on the neck kept making for a sticky situation and getting in the way. After a while I ended up with making a crazy decision, which was to strip away the finish, redo it, tru-oil finish and stain, lots of different grits of sandpaper etc. Now, compared to the finish on my suhr gg, it's even "softer" if that makes any sense, never sticky, always inviting. Which is why, I keep playing it :)

I'm including a couple of "before" pictures from the store and two pictures after my neck mod - and actually installing a schaller sure claw + drilling a small convenience hole for the spring adjustment. Soon after I took those pictures I also swapped out the saddles for gotoh LS (locking) saddles (gold/silver), which further improved it (imo) but no mods since (this was all about a year ago). I love the pickups. Oh and although I've been following PRS guitars for many years, I never actually wanted one - until I'd seen Deep Purple a couple of times live with Simon McBride. What an incredible player. So articulate and the tone is fantastic. - it has to be the guitar, right? :D
Anyway, this was/is a bucket list guitar for me and I absolutely love it.

I wish every Tele had contours and a Les Paul type toggle switch. Your guitar is pure perfection!

After watching some VH vids this week I was reminded to give some love to my oldest guitar in my collection. My EBMM Axis circa. 2002. Gave it a good clean and fresh strings. While working on it can't help but appreciate the craftsmanship. Just flawless really. It's still mint other than a destructive mod I made in my mid 20's ( I was a fool of a took) and took out the original pups and had cavities routed for active EMG's. it was a strange phase i was going through...so hence, pickup rings. I have Dimarzio's back in though...36th PAF anniversary in neck and AT-1 (andy timmons) in bridge. This combo is very damn close to how the custom dimarzios sounded. I wish I held on to those original pups. but this set sounds fantastic and have no plans to ever change them out.
