What guitar are you playing today?

How do you like that Charvel? I love the color (but wished that fabulous finish wasn't obstructed by the pickguard!).I have

Been playing these two today ...

I have a Sfogli too, put on a different pickguard.
Do not play it that much, but it is a fun guitar to keep around and it is the only one I have with EMG's.

My newest guitar, received in trade for another great guitar, is a 2019 PRS Special SemiHollow Limited Edition. It sees its first gig (with me, anyway!) tomorrow night. I’ve been loving the great tone and versatility. I never really got what semihollowbody guitars were about, but I’m sure digging what this one does. Nearly 50 years of playing, and still learning there’s more out there! Reflections of FM9T/FC12 rig in the pickup…

Beautiful guitar!

I just put down my Leo Jaymz Single Cut Deluxe.

I bought the guitar from Amazon for $180 as a wall hanger. The guitar seems well built, I’m not sure what woods were used and I really don’t care, but it seems stable and stays in tune now (more on that later). The finish is flawless, yea I know that’s a print on the top, but the binding is done well, there’s no blems or fisheye in the finish and the overall look of the instrument is very nice.

That is where it stopped. While it was playable out of the box, it was loaded with uneven frets and cheap hardware everywhere. The pickups weren’t too bad but not great either and the pots felt cheap. It did not stay in tune as the tuners were sloppy.

Exactly what I expected for a $180 guitar.

Wall hanger or not I decided to use it as a project guitar. I completely stripped the guitar down to just the body. I started a fret level but came to quickly realize that the fretwire was soft, and more than a few were loose. The fretboard was also very rough and uneven. I pulled the frets, leveled the fingerboard, and refretted with Stew Mac medium tall frets. I added a Tusq nut for good measure.

I replaced the bridge and tailpiece with Tone Pros hardware, added Grover locking tuners and threw in a set of EMG 85s that I already had sitting on a shelf.

I’m so glad I put the time into this guitar, it plays great and is a real head turner. It ends up in some of our sets, I break it out for Grand Funk’s ‘American Band’ and Skynyrd’s ‘Sweet Home Alabama’.

This one is getting an inordinate amount of playing at the moment - they were touted (not by Ibanez) as the "Suhr Killer" when they first appeared..... well, that they most certainly are not, but this is a delightful guitar to play and sounds great in pretty much every pickup configuration. And I like the colour - hey, that's important!

Ummmmm ...... errrr ....... AZ242 or something like that - Tequila Burst from memory - Ibanez sure cornered the market in snappy guitar names!

Some people have commented that they find the necks on the AZ series a wee smidge thick, but that's what I like about these over the RGs.
AZ242F...

I really like the "smoother" color fade on yours. Most are a bit more "drastic".

Playing my Sully Raven for the last few days. The outside sections are pearl white and the center section is white with blue pearl that the light is hitting at the proper angle on the left side to flip it to blue.

What model is that?

Yes I was pleasantly surprised by how nice it is - someone local ended up with an outrageously flamed neck on theirs, but mine is a bit plain.
