Volume boost for solos

I use the GEQ block, 5 band passive mode, in series after the Cab block.

The curve is a "frown" with mids boosted. The lows and highs are not changed but the other 3 sliders make the "frown" shape. I typically don't increase the level of the block as the mid boost takes care of that.

Some prefer to use cuts. In this case, cut the lows, low mids, high mids and highs to make the same "frown" curve. You might need to increase the block level for a boost if you are using this method.

Filter block, almost always. Either a null filter with 3dB boost or just a slight mid-bump in addition to a 1-2dB boost.

Changing the scene level will affect the tail levels of any reverb and delays instantly, which isn't subtle.

For most of my presets my boost is before delay and reverb. This makes the delay and reverb get "bigger" when the boost is on. On a few presets, this is too much, but for the most part I like to drive the input of the delay and reverb harder during boost.

amp -> pitch -> cab -> geq (boost) -> dly -> rev
