Vivian Campbell Preset

I just came here to say that IMO... Def Leppard is probably the best sounding live rock band currently.
100% agree with that. I've always thought that. In terms of sound quality and vocal performance, Leppard have always been the best live band I've ever heard. I think a lot of that is to do with the way the guys have approached it in terms of work ethic and professionalism, they made a point of making sure they have always been good live. They were never the type to turn up pissed or high or without preparation etc, as has been the case with some other acts. That working class mentality of wanting to emulate their idols, is still there, and they have surpassed most of their idols to be honest.

And let's not forget, Leppard is one of the few bands out there still playing and singing live. They were being accused of using tapes a long time before it became fashionable to run your entire live performance off a show computer.

I think it was you who asked about the Chorus. 8-Voice Stereo

Even though myself and two other Tech's created/tweeked the patches, they are Viv's to share, not ours.

What we have discussed here is a great opportunity to learn and improve your tones. Take this info and run with it!!

Hey Scott, a quick question if I may?

Do you make any changes in the overall tone when you go from a stadium show to a small show? To me, the stadium shows sound like a less gainy, bigger type of tone compared to a small show like the Leadmill, where that tone sounds more gainy or more high end. The acoustic environment must be so different between two shows like that, I'm wondering if you do anything to accommodate that?

Or is it some kind of fletcher munson effect where it's exactly the same tones you're hearing in all the venues, but just sounds different to the listener?

Thanks!

No, we don't make any changes to any of the guys tones.

The main differences between a stadium show and a show at the Leadmill is the PA, as well as the acoustics of the venue. I'm sure Fletcher Munson comes into effect as well.

Sounded great in the Leadmill and at Bramhall Lane the following Monday
They did indeed - and a lot better than Motley Crue, who for some reason thought it was a good idea to try and kill the audience with far too much bass.

The show at Wembley stadium was the one though - I've seen Leppard so many times, and Wembley was just a cut above. The sound was spot on and pretty immense that night

When does the Wembley dvd come out? ;)

Big applause for the guys on the audio team. They are some of the best in the business.

If there was ever gonna be a DVD of those shows it'd be Bramhall lane seeing as its mere yards from the place where they first rehearsed

Seeing as though its been a couple of years now im not expecting any official release

There was a suggestion floating around that Brammall lane show was going to be a DVD, can't remember if that was something Joe said or if I heard it somewhere else. Would make sense from the homecoming aspect to do it, although if I'm totally honest, it didn't seem like a special homecoming, not like Don Valley was. There was nothing really different about the Brammall Lane show, I suppose that's to be expected as it was effectively just another date on the stadium tour.

I would have like the Wembley show on dvd though. Do you remember some years ago they were saying there was going to be a behind the scenes dvd from the Las Vegas Hysteria residency? That never turned up either. Maybe we'll get a new live dvd from the upcoming residency, if they change the set around a bit?

I believe so. I haven't seen Viv's rig in a couple months so I cant be 100% certain.
Awesome! Thank you. I’ve been using Phil’s preset, but using the York Audio MRSH 412 Greenbacks mix 01 in the cab block with a hi cut at 6500kHz, and a low cut at 80Hz with great results. Throwing in the Quad Tap Delay, and the Rockman Chorus from @2112 and it’s been sounding really great! Thank you for all your help.
