Trouble Downloading from Axe Exchange

When I try to download from Axe Exchange. Windows DVD Player automatically tries to download the file but sends a message "not a valid DVD Maker project file" and the download crashes. I am wondering if someone knows how to fix this. I'm running Vista 7. Thanks.

Sounds like your file associations are munged.
Control panel->default programs
Look to see what .syx is associated with

Also try a different browser, you may have associated the .syx extension in the browser itself at it thinks it should open after download.

Thanks for the feedback. .syx was associated with the wrong thing. What should it be associated with?

I may have messed it up when an avg anit-virus message told me I had viruses associated with axe edit and fractal bot files.
