TIP: Free Tone Match EQ (VST) - today only

Axe-Master
Our 'friends' over at Positive grid are giving away their EQ pack today. It has tone matching capabilities, it can be used in your DAW, and you can use Voxengo Deconvolver (fully sufficient demo version) to create an IR in .wav formats of the EQ settings, so it can be used in AX8

https://store.positivegrid.com/

You just have to log in to your PG account (or create one) and download the EQs directly from the store.

Hey!!!! Thanks for the heads-up....downloading!

So, I downloaded the zip file, which included the three EQ installers, and then extracted them from the zip folder. I ran each of the files through the MD5 hash generator as suggested on the download page, but none of the resulting checksums matched the one shown on the download page.

Should I be concerned about that?

Try running the MD5 hash generator on the entire zip file. I haven't tried it myself, but it's worth taking a look. The hash tag will not be the same for 3 separate files and only one is listed on the download page. If there's only one hash tag that it's likely the zip file.

If you look at item 6 here https://help.positivegrid.com/hc/en-us/articles/202797405 - you can check, if your EQs have been properly installed.

I ran the three installers, went into my DAW, opened an instance of each of the three plugins, logged into their 'tonecloud' and checked that my licenses had been activated properly.

Never used anything like this before, so I have what might be a dumb question. I there a free deconvolver for Mac? Thanks

I followed that procedure, and they all three check out. Thanks! And thanks for letting us know about the download.

I tested the tone matching capabilities of these plugins tonight, and I must say, it's pretty disappointing. I think, they're great VST EQ plugins, but for tone matching, they're quite limited.

I like Melda productions mfreeformEQ and Voxengo CurveEQ, but they're not free (although the demo of CurveEQ is actually sufficient to do what we need)
