Timmy's reworking of Dutch's Naked Amp Bank

Hi all,

Well I uploaded Dutch's Naked Amp Bank to my Ultra and I've been going through and seeing if I can match cabs to amps in their most commonly known speaker configuration... ie in the way you would put the Blackface sim through the 2x12 Black etc.

If anyone wants to help me here on this, I'd most appreciate it, and I'll happily upload the results. I've been trying to glean clues from manuals, the wiki and the forum as to what is what, but there are a few road blocks (probably due to legal reasons).

So here's what I've matched so far -

AMP Cabinet

TUBE PRE + No cab sim - Like you would run direct to desk

JAZZ + ?????? - requires a 2x12 with silver coned speakers

Brownface + 1x12 BLACK

BLUES + 4x10 BASS

TWEED + 1x12 TWEED

BLACKFACE + 2X12 black

CLASS A + 2x12 Brit

TOP BOOST + 2x12 Brit

PLEXI 1 + 4x12 30W

BRIT800 + 4x12T75

BROWN + 4x12 25W (Based on research found online where Eddie said he used 20, 25 and 30W Celestions for one of the early albums)

USA CLEAN + 1x12 E12L (though should I be using the 1x12 Studio here? The manual states its from a famous Californian amp maker's studio model)

Great!

I am too lazy to do this. I also thought I would change the cabs to what I like best anyway, and so would anyone else, so I didn't bother.
But I applaud the initiative!

I was also under the impression the German cab (my fave) was a Bogner, but I've no idea where I got that from.

IIRC the UK GC30 is a Laney, Brit 2x12?
The CA-3 and X99 are also preamps, so no poweramp or cab specified. Pair them to your discretion.

I'm also not an authority, but didn't the MESA Marks have EV's and the cheaper ones Black Shadows by Celestion?

I had some other suggestions, but they died.

Hi all,

JAZZ + ?????? - requires a 2x12 with silver coned speakers

Here is a link to close-miked IR's from a JBL E-120 speaker (the 12" silver dustcapped ones found in the original Jazz Chorus amps before Roland started putting cheaper - lighter - ones in there) and from a JBL K-110, a 10" silver dustcapped speaker that's a bit warmer.

The K-110 IR sounds really nice to my ears. I did the sweeps on the speakers, and schnarf made the IRs out of those.

I've found the following:

BROWNFACE - 1x15" Eminence

Don't know about this. Brown Vibroverbs were 2x10". Blackface vibroverbs were 1x15"
