The sense of loss is crushing. Axe-Fx III down for a few days.

Forced to use some of the other great stuff I have at hand (I'm a lucky man, I know) I decided to demo a new set of locally made PAF-style pickups with my Marshall SV20H and an OwnHammer IR via the BOSS Tube Amp Expander. It's a limited poke bowl but still good fun.

Not digital enough!
Thanks
Pauly

Getting close?

Haha. Dramatic, eh? It's true, though. Everyday I sit in my little room surrounded by great guitars, amps, pedals and cool stuff. In reality, however, and with all due respect to the makers of said cool stuff, the centre of my creativity and work is my Axe-FX III. After cooking dinner for the family (I'm the cook) I always come back to my room and relax by creating tones and presets that I like to share with you guys if I think they're OK. So the Axe-FX III really is "The Object" of my day to day world. Today the presets were doing odd things - input levels up and down ... it wasn't happy. Sputz, hum, levels everywhere. Clearly I'd burned a resistor or cap or some goddamn thing in the front end. So it's gone to the tech gods of Oz (thank you Andrew Farnham) on a fast train. But in the meantime: LOSS. OH GOD. Vacuum. Bigtime! Anyway, I just had to vent because it's a feeling far more saddening to me than losing a guitar. Is yours that important to you?

Oh man, sorry for your loss. Thank god its not mission critical. Hope you get it back soon and not by the fractal definition of soon.

Omg
I think I better buy another one just in case!
Hope it’s not too much longer.
Thanks
Pauly

No word other than a vague reference to the problem having something to do with the input. I'll have to begin therapy next week for separation anxiety.

Isn't the trusty AX8 keeping you going whilst it's big brother is in the shop?

Yes ... kind of. We've been playing at Crown Casino here in Melbourne for a year, so it's installed there at the moment. The studio is Fractal-free until the AFXIII comes home.

Just saw this thread. As a local to you Burgs I've often wondered what would happen if my Axe 3 ran into a problem. It's been a month since your post. Do you have it back yet?
