Synth block output level

I've been using the synth block as a test-tone generator for calibrating the output levels of various presets.

Voice 1: {Type = Sin, Frequency = 440Hz, Voice 1 level = 100%, Mix = 100%, Output level = 0db}
Voice 2,3: Off.

Connecting this block directly to an output block suggests that the synth block is actually producing -6db on both left and right channels. Why?

(Apologies if this question has been asked before)

When two identical speakers are producing correlated, identical sound at identical levels, it sounds 6 dB louder louder than it sounds when there’s only one speaker firing.

Thanks. But does this explain why the Output Block itself reports its input level as being at -6dB?

Please see the attached preset.
Notice that the output level of the synth block is set to 0.0db, and that the left and right meters of the output block to which it is connected both read -6db.
Thanks again.

The red line on the output meters corresponds to about 10 dBu output level (and ~10 dB headroom) with output knob at maximum. I'd guess the synth was set to produce the stated "nominal output" of 4 dBu with one voice at 100% level, block level at 0 dB.

(This is the Axe-FX II forum section BTW. It looks like you're asking about the Axe-FX III as that's an Axe III preset.)

Got nothing to add to that. :)
