Asking to confirm: The ONLY way to update the MFC firmware is to use a MIDI cable? And using Cat 5e is a NO-GO?

And I can use the Axe-2 as a MIDI interface to do the update? FWIW I actually did RTM but am still uncertain.

LOL - I understand. I AM an IT guy - as well as a musician. Must be a right-brain thing
To keep it short.. NO! You cannot upgrade the MFC firmware over the CAT5. It's a NO GO !
YES, you can upgrade using the Axe interface (USB to MIDI) or via midi direct.

It states in the release notes that ethernet can be used to power the MFC while updating.

Do I need to reprogram my MCF switches and XP settings etc. after the update? or will they stay the same? That is an important thing to know because of an upcoming gig.

AFAIK everything will have to be reprogrammed. The update forces a factory reset of the MFC.

I moved some IA switches around, and the changes are still there after the upgrade.
