Show us your cats (and AM4)

Smudge is having his night time zoomies, going crazy with one of his toys. I'm practicing, but I look over to see him reaching under the dresser. So I figure he kicked his toy under it, so I go and lean it back in hopes that he'll just reach in there and grab it.

Nope.

This nutty cat crawls all the way under the dresser, while I have it leaned back, and WON'T COME OUT!! And I'm afraid I'm gonna drop it on him and squash his dumb ass!

So I'm laughing my ass off, trying to slide it back further so I can push him out with my foot, and he just crawls further under it!! Then I saw his tail, and had no choice but to step on it, and that got him to scurry out.

I won't do that again! I never did find the toy. It's probably under some other piece of furniture...

Crazy cats. Now he's all calm.

That's amazing. I'm sure we've all enjoyed the experience of them knocking a toy under the refrigerator, not being able to reach it, crying for help...only to immediately bat it under the fridge again after we've dug it out for them.

I've pulled out quite a few dusty toys, and within minutes, he's lost them all again. He's funny to watch, but not too bright.

Seriously, it breaks my heart when I see a dog that's intimidated by the cat. It usually means that the cat assaults the dog, but the dog is not allowed to defend himself.

The cat is not allowed to assault the dog, but she doesn't want the dog's attention, and the dog is obsessed with her, and sometimes that leads to the dog getting whacked. If you have a solution to her constantly harassing the cat, we're all ears.

It took my dog here in Turkey about a year to learn that messing with cats isn’t as great of an idea as he had thought initially. Since cats are everywhere here, he was trying to get to each and every one he saw, and was getting smacked on the nose multiple times. Now he demonstratively ignores them, and they ignore him, good.

The order we got these pets in was 1. older cat, 2. dog, 3. younger cat. The older cat is a bit of a cranky old lady, the dog was a pup when we got her, and she followed the cat everywhere. We got the younger cat in hopes that the dog would be friends with her, as the kitten loves everyone. She constantly love bombs the dog, rubbing her head under the dogs chin, but the dog could't care less, which baffles us. All she wants to do is get in the older cats way. It's frustrating, as we want all of them to have as good quality a life as possible. We thought about getting another dog, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't matter, as our dog ignores other dogs.

I get it. If Puppy takes a known risk, consequences may ensue.

The answer is psychotherapy. I can provide this. Three times a week. Via telepathy. 🤣

Here's mine. Pedaltrain Metro Max, EV-2 for the AM4, and CBA Exp on the VP4 and American Loopers single button for tap tempo on the VP4. The audio goes guitar -> AM4 in -> AM4 SPDIF out --> VP4 SPDIF in --> VP4 out to Walrus Canvas Stereo to a pair of Atomic CLRs.

This is my first experience with Fractal amp modeling (I've had the VP4 since I came out) and I'm very impressed. I have a QC and an OG Helix and they are great too. I've always wanted to try Fractal amp modeling but just never quite got there. The simplicity of the AM4 and my experience with the VP4 pushed me over the edge.

I'm lucky to not have to sell my other gear so now I can choose between the Fractal, Quad Cortex, OG Helix and even a bunch of plugins on my Mac Studio running through GigPerformer. So many options and so much fun to mess with all this gear. Oh yeah, then there's a few "real" amps in the collection as well.

On a related note, does someone make SPDIF cables with 90 degree connectors? The only cables I can find with angled connectors are advertised for home theater subwoofers and I'm pretty sure they won't work. The RCA connector is the same, but I'm pretty sure the cable itself can handle the digital data.

Quick Amazon search shows a couple, for example. There's really no reason they shouldn't work, assuming they have proper noise rejection and shielding.

Alternatively you could get standard straight connector SPDIF cables and a 4-pack of right angle adapters.
