I integrated my AM4 with a HX Stomp this afternoon and plan to use it tomorrow night at a gig.
Works pretty nicely, I put the AM4 in the Stomp's Loop so I can put Stomp FX pre- and post AM4. I am using the Stomp for the always-on Reverb (spring) and Delay (Tape Echo slapback). I don't think the Verb / Delay sounds quite as good as the AM4's, but good enough for live applications, and a great solo boost (includes Midrange bump, level bump, high-end attenuation, and Delay time/feeback bump) - single button press.
Also putting Post-AM4 effects there, namely a Chorus, and an Auto-Swell. I also have a single pre-AM4 drive block (KoT). I can turn all of these on/off using the stomps on-board and external midi footswitch (which fit on top of the Stomp, so it doesn't increase the footprint).
On the AM4 I'm running my amp block with the same 4 channels as last week's gig (Two Rock X2, JTM45 and Friedman BE) and I'm running three FX blocks in front of the amp block - Tremolo, Touch Wah (Filter), and Flanger. These are for only a few tunes - most of the time, they won't be touched.
Also running a Cry Baby Jr Wah in front of it all on the floor beside the pedalboard.
I plan to run in Amp Mode for free and easy 1-press access to each channel, with my Drive, Solo Boost, Chorus and Autoswell selectable on the Stomp. The only multi-press I should have to make all night is the Tuner on the AM4. If I stick with this set up, I will program a volume pedal for tuner-on-heel-down, to avoid even that simple multi-press.
They both fit side-by-side on a Rockboard 3.0 (17.4" Wide). The pedalboard is using a MOD Patch Bay with 5 TRS in/out jacks, a XLR out and an Auxiliary 9VDC out along with a standard IEC power plug. Makes for a very easy set up and tear down.
It's all powered by a CIOKS DC7 w/ Crux. Stomp uses two DC Outs into a current doubler and barrel adaptor, while the AM4 uses just the Crux outlet. I have one additional 9VDC out going to the Rockboard's aux 9VDC out on the front panel, to power the Wah (external). This still leaves me 4 DC outs on the CIOKS if I wanted to expand.
One advantage of using the Stomp's output, is that I can split the output control, and have the main out's of the Stomp sending a set (non-adjustable) volume level to FOH, while using the Headphone out (1/4") to feed my monitor and control my guitar's level from the Stomp's volume control without having any impact on the FOH feed. Another good benefit of the Stomp is that it is a "built-in" back up for the AM4 (and vice-versa) if either one of them go out on a gig, either can do Amp/Cab and Effects all by themselves to complete the show.
From the top angle it looks like the AM4 and Stomp hang off the sides of the board, but they don't, just the angle/perspective. You can see from the "front-on" shot they fit perfectly.
