Shit In My Hat...Warren Haynes with an Axe Fx!...

Warren is one of my favorite guitarist...Couldn't believe it was watching the stream last night from the Lock'n Fest in Virgina of Phil Lesh and friends and low and behold i could have sworn i saw an Axe in a small rack in between his Marshall Cab and his Token head, then next to it was a Super Reverb. I wish i had a picture to confirm but i saw the screen and the flashing tempo light. So it seems hes using it for effects...His tone and effect choices were sickk...Never thought some of these old school guys would go that way but hey it kicks ass!...I know Jimmy Herring was using one for awhile, just for effects..not sure if he is now.

Last I heard, Jimmy is still using it for fx.

How was Lock'n? Was hoping I'd have time to watch some of it... maybe tonight. Warren and Scofield together... nuff said!

ya has been killer so far..They are on again tonight, Phil & Friends. Then Panic with Steve Winwood should be great..Warren was killin last night..Sco a little laid back and wasnt loud enough in the mix buit it was sick. Add Medeski on keys and its done.

yup right next to the super reverb standing on end..

I'm surprised Michael Kang from SCI hasn't jumped on the AxeFx

I imagine he's probably just using it for tours where he doesn't have his full rig. I didn't see one at Mule in Birmingham in July but we did see a fractal sticker on a road case. Pretty awesome either way!

Morning Dew... sigh. I used to *love* playing this with my Dead tribute band.

Wish Mule was coming to Salt Lake this tour.

Saw Gov't Mule last night. Great show. No Axe-Fx in sight with Mule. Soldano, a Diaz amp, and Category 5 on the stage.

I was at Lockn. Couldn't see what he was using. He was there with Allmans as well as Phil and friends. Sounded very good in all contexts , Awesome with Allmans. As good as I've ever heard him. Really great tone and never harsh which I used to find him occasionally. Phil and friends had their moments. Fantastic musicians, but the roles are a bit undefined. I kept thinking, "who's Bob?" I'm not overly traditional about the Dead and love Scofield and Medeski, but I really missed the glue of Bobs assertive rhythm guitar.. That said, Phil's bass sounded great and it was fun to hear. Lots of great stuff. Wilco was awesome, Winwood was excellent. Tom Petty kicked ass. What a great band. I'm not a fan particularly, but they were excellent live. It was a guitar porn Fest during Petty and Wilco. Tedeschi Trucks was awesome, Too.
