Setting up 2 EV-1 Pedals

Hello FX8 Forum

I’ve recently purchased an FX8 with 2 EV1 pedals...
Having been a straight plug in guy who’s a little dyslexic has made learning this thing quite a challenge-!

I’m having trouble separating the 2 pedals...I’m looking to use 1 as an expression and the other simply as a global volume ...

I don’t think it’s that difficult, but I’ll be damned if I can figure it out!

I’d appreciate any guidance

Thanks

the manual teaches how to make a Global Volume.

on the same I/O CTRL page that it mentions, find "External Control 1" on that list and set it to the Pedal port you are using (1 or 2). then read about Modifiers in the manual and how to assign it to that Pedal.

Thanks Chris

I’m working on it-

I trying to set 1 as expression and 2 as volume
It seems both are functioning as volume pedals.
Plus I’m seeing “bypass” which is confusing me
Is there a simple fix here?

Thanks for your time

It’s appreciated

where are you seeing "bypass"?

you need to go to the I/O CTRL menu and make sure that Pedal1 and Pedal2 are only set to the items you want in that list.
Thanks Chris

I’m seeing “BYP” listed next to Wah

I’m in modifier. The pedal only controls volume atm

“Wahwah 1 BYP”
I have it set to pedal 1

It’s just acting as a volume pedal, no effect
you haven't followed my instructions.

set that back to 118. again, on the I/O CTRL page , find "External Control 1" on that list and set it to the Pedal port you are using (1 or 2).

from there, you assign the Pedal within the Wah block itself on each preset, not in this I/O CTRL page.

and as i mentioned before, you have to make sure that Pedal 1 is NOT assigned to anything else except External Control 1.

the manual specifically shows how to set up a Wah pedal. please look in the manual. both things you want to do are listed in there.

for Pedal 2, your global volume, follow the instructions in the picture i posted.

Thanks for checking in

I truly do struggle with written text, especially this much technology-
I’m determined to figure it out.

It’s not that I’m not following instructions as much as simply not understanding them -

The sub categories on this unit is endless-

Someone should set up a service to customize these things to order... I’d pay!

I’m reading up - it’s gonna be a little while

I’ll post when I get stuck which will happen soon enough-

TY

on the page where you set Wah Bypass to Pedal, set that back to 118

find External Control 1 and set that to Pedal 1

make sure nothing else is set to Pedal 1.

have you done that?

There's no shame in dyslexia. Infinite frustration, though.

Hang in there. You will get this. You're in capable hands.
