Saturation switch settings????

This may sound like a really dumb question, and it most probably is, but why is it that in the amp blocks in the Mk II the default setting for the saturation switch is 'OFF' and not 'IDEAL'?? Surely the latter would seem more logical??

Am I missing something here?

Thanks for your reply Chris. So basically it's an amp mod to give the amp more saturation. Well, thats easy enough to understand. Cheers.

Heh, yeah, in this case i think "ideal" refers to "not possible in the real world, but rather mathemagically derived" as opposed to any kind of quality judgement :)
 
"Ideal" saturation means a saturation switch that doesn't reduce your volume like real sat switches do.
