My bass doesn't sound at all like a Rick or Jazz bass, but the @austinbuddy "Geddy" preset and a strong right-hand attack work nicely together.

The Studio Giants preset has been my go-to for a while now, as I was playing bass in a mostly Steely Dan cover act. The "Josie" scene was perfect for most songs, and the Nathan East scene rounded it out when I needed a good slap tone.Any other favs you especially like from that 200+ Bass TonePack? Let us/me know!
Thanks - and It plays even better! It's a Roscoe LG3000 Custom I picked up about 15 years ago and have played it almost every day since. Keith Roscoe makes outstanding instruments. That bass sounds great.
Sounds killer!
Thank you!Well done Sir!
Wow. As a guy who took the time to learn all the guitar note for note in Josie myself (more complex than one might think to nail all the changes), hat’s off on those Steely Dan tunes. I posted samples after we shot some promo videos a while back so you can hear how well the Josie/Nathan East scenes sound in a full mix: https://forum.fractalaudio.com/thre...supertramp-covers-performed-with-band.194531/
The Tool/Schism tone is becoming another favorite to use. It's really bright and cuts through nicely with grungier-sounding heavy rock.

Spurred on by your clip I went out and got AB’s bass pack (HUGE shout out to @austinbuddy who helped me out with a password issue - thx for the quick assist !). However I can’t find a “Geddy” preset. I thought it might be a scene in the Rush preset but I couldn’t find it.Thanks, @Gregmang !
Review the .pdf artist preset style guide notes included in the download — and all will be revealed!Spurred on by your clip I went out and got AB’s bass pack (HUGE shout out to @austinbuddy who helped me out with a password issue - thx for the quick assist !). Am I missing something or is it pilot error (me ) ?
So I def need to “read the effing manual”Review the .pdf artist preset style guide notes included in the download — and all will be revealed!
Not the manual… there is a .pdf that explains each artist preset, what bass, strings type, pick/fingers… on page 2 or 3 you’ll find the Geddy Lee Rickenbacker stuff! So I def need to “read the effing manual”
Thank you Sir !
You also do have to install a few IRs — THAT is in the manual and tutorial videos on my YouTube channel! Not the manual… there is a .pdf that explains each artist preset, what bass, strings type, pick/fingers… on page 2 or 3 you’ll find the Geddy Lee Rickenbacker stuff!
