I want to make sure I understand the 4 cable method and in doing so also make sure my adding in of a second effect unit is correct.
First thing is the FX Send going into input 2, this is the preamp out into the input 2 of the Axe FX then going out of the Output 2 of the Axe FX into the amp. I am assuming this is what gets the preamp of the tube amp inserted into the Axe FX and what allows the pre/preamp effects to be applied.
Second is the Output 1 to the FX Return of the amp. Since I understand the FX Return to be the return right back before the power amp this would be where the post effects take place. So If I came back out of output 1 into a loop on the patchmate, then added a secondary effect unit here then out of this loop into the FX Return of the amp I am assuming that any effects in this secondary unit would run post preamp and serial to any effects being used post preamp by the Axe Fx.
Please let me know if the above thinking is correct.
