Implemented REAL compatible spring reverb

.......I miss my first amp, a 1970 sears silvertone head with a spring that would explode if you breathed heavy on it.
My friend in junior high school had one of those. I used to lust after it every time I saw it (or went thumbing through the Sears catalog). It had a nice growl to it when you drove it hard. Pissed off his parents, though.

This is fascinating. I always wondered why people talked about tube driven spring reverbs and why my Mark IV amp had one side of a 12AX7 (or similar tube) dedicated to the reverb. Cool beans. Yeah, I love spring reverb, but no so much that I'd buy an external version.

The Axe is made to simulate things. I can’t see this happening. The spring reverb models are great already.
With the III, I think all the reverbs are great and can't imagine spending money even if I could get something better. The last update (3.0?) just killed it.

The spring verbs in the III are amazing and pass the "drip test" admirably.

If you're after a physical spring verb to chuck in the effects loop you could look at something like this.
