problem with latching pedals

I'm trying to hook up my latching Mesa/Boogie footswitch to the Axe and it's not working. I've tried two other latching pedals--a gibson 4-in-1 pedal and a crybaby--and surprisingly the only one that works is the crybaby. I have my VPJR hooked up as pedal 1 and it works fine. Tried switching out cables too. Any ideas?

Did you set the pedal type to latching?
