I have a Matrix power amp GT 1600FX, on and off it makes cracking noise even when the volume is off, anybody knows how to fix it?

Crackling sounds out of speakers with the volume turned off? Or from the amp itself?

It is from the amp, speakers are not powered.

Obviously you wouldn't connect a power amp to powered speakers...

Sorry, only from the left speaker.

If you swap cables does it come from the other speaker?

Yes

Probably something with the amp channel connected to the cable or possibly the cable itself...

Maybe spraying some DeOxit or other electronic cleaner in the jack and even the volume knob.

You could also try contacting Matrix support.

Sorry late to this. Give us a shout at support@matrixamplification.com and I can run through some troubleshooting if you want. Basically, could be a noisy pot on that channel. Isolating if the crackle is indeed from the channel itself or the cable/speaker is the main thing. So swap out the cable and speaker that works (no noise) to the the suspect channel. If no noise then likely a cable issue. If noise then it narrows it down to that channel.
