@sskkmm, there's one very, very, very, important thing that I forgot to mention. No matter what region you move to, you just
have to try
Berliner Weisse! (Provided you're not teetotal, of course.) As the wiki link will tell you, it's a sour ale that is mixed with a shot of flavored syrup. Woodruff or raspberry being the classics, but nowadays you'll find mango, black currant and others, as well.
It's available pre-mixed or plain. I'd recommend getting plain "Berliner Kindl" (the blue sixpacks/labels) and Tri Top (a German brand of syrup, usually diluted with water to make a soft drink) in any flavor you like, except lemon/lime, as that doesn't make any sense with a sour ale.
As far as I'm concerned, it's WOODRUFF or DEATH!!! (Unless you consume too much woodruff, then it's woodruff AND death.) And be careful, in the summer heat it just goes down like soda pop and it's very refreshing, so it's easy to overdo it.
